Just saw that on River Avenue Blues. To me Chapman was a bit of a head case never knew why the Yankees acquired him. If they get a haul so much the good, let the next guy worry about his rental time an impending free agency.
Four more years of Ellsbury at huge money. Just a terrible signing. This loss is exactly why you can't buy into anything with this group. They should be sellers and that's all there is to it. Absolute garbage like Hicks is what's on the bench. Give me a break.
...Yanx, 0-10 with RISP...end of story.
...Hicks has never been worth a shit at the plate. He now has over 1100 career ABs with a slash line of .218 .296 .338 .634 with a career OPS+ of 74.
...that's abysmal...especially for a corner OFer.
"Saturday, 10:38pm ET: The Yankees are telling teams they are close to trading Aroldis Chapman and will hold on to Andrew Miller, reports Ken Rosenthal. There’s no word on where Chapman may be heading or when a deal may be completed. For what it’s worth, the Nationals have been connected to him most frequently."
...I'm hoping this is simply posturing and poker playing by Cashman in order to get a better offer for Miller...no one on the roster should be untouchable. If the Yanx really want to reload, Miller would bring even more in return through a trade than Chapman. I realize that Miller is under under contract for another 2 years but unless the Yanx can completely turn thing around by next year (and I realistically don't think they can) I don't see the need for Miller on a Yanx team that probably won't make the PS next year either.
...this is not a time for half measures...if they are serious about turning the roster over, the changes they make need to be big ones...if they can a contending team to cough up some serious chips for Miller, they should do it.
