No, I was serious, so thanks for the info. Over here in AFG I don't get to study other teams' box scores much. That's kind of a welcome surprise, no?

AFG? Are thank you's for your service in order?

Rick, no offense....but I really don't give a ah!t because I'm getting pretty close to ignoring the whole board with the exception of one or two....but I'll probably hang around just to help enhance and add some much needed juice and credibility to this moribund boring predictable ( not all) bunch of crybabies who populate this board and instead of just passing up or reserving comment on my posts which THEY disagree with, THEY are the ones who try and make huge issues of it.

The usual two or three posters who actually try and portray me as knowing less about the Yankees and baseball but have in reality begun to realize as this season moves along that I am being proven "correct" and more accurate than they are and they just can't handle it...lol........Plenty of times, too many times I have heard the usual one or two posters telling me- "you're wrong again"....."again you don't know what you're talking about"....."You never learn do you"?
I won't even get into the personal vulgar insults with profanity.
It's understandable as one begins to realize he's "losing" the debate...lol

Here's a very recent example of why I might just leave this crap and wave bye bye to some of your fellow "smart Yankee posters".....this was in THIS thread....and to be honest, it sometimes really feels beneath me addressing some of these comments.

Totus (post 12)
"Hey cash.....remember those guys Montero and Jackson"?

Obviously he was upset because Montero got two hits and Jackson had the RBI single.
And he was ready to pin the loss on Cashman, like a good little Cashman basher..lmao

So of course I owed a good response for the sake of sane, rational Yankee/baseball fans and maybe I also offered some info and facts which he needed to know as a "smart Yankee poster".

And here was my reply to this ridiculous garbage:.....and it's funny how an assinine comment like post #12 went by without a single reply.....except for me.
At least if there was an "outsider" or two browsing they wouldn't think too many Yankee fans are shallow...or prejudiced against the GM.

My reply to post #12 in THIS thread:

"Yeah....yeah.....I bet he does remember them.
If I remember correctly, (and I'm guessing Cashman also remembers).......
Austin Jackson is the guy they used to acquire Granderson who averaged (per 162 g) 37 HRs, 98 RBI, .829 OPS over four seasons and this includes one year when he played only 61 games due to a broken bone HBP in his forearm.

Back to Jackson- he has averaged career per season,, 10 HRs, 55 RBI, .731 OPS and 168 Ks and has hit a grand total so far,of 20 HRs since 2013.

Jesus Montero?....yes...the name rings a bell. Was supposed to be a "catcher" and has thrown out 14% (lol) of sb/att in his career.
Has a career .256 BA and .695 OPS....

....maybe he can replace Tex and/or Bird at 1b next year and we return Pineda to the Mariners"?

Before - maybe - before I leave .....just for the hell of it.....Yanks need 40 more wins to reach the "APPROX 90" wins I "predicted" before the season started.....why am I saying this now? Simple- as the board "ignores" me,...and I just might drop out anyway.....
I just want to remind y'all that I was the ONLY one who went as high as that.....some of you had the Yanks for 82-85 wins, that's fine....they could be right.

Another genius had them for .500, could be, but I doubted it in March...and STILL do.
Just do me a favor, when the Yanks win their 90th game, take your pals' head out of the sand long enough to remind them who predicted it.
And then tell them to eat my sh!t. Lol.

I think it's only fair since I've taken my share of bashing , and Pasta and Bernbabybern have ALSO recognized the chummy, snide, cheap shot triple teaming a couple/few of you guys specialize in. Still doesn't make "you" any smarter.

Your biggest problem is you cannot let yesterday go which is a big part of being on a message board. You want to keep reminding people about what they might of said months ago and how you are some kind of genius who knows everything. Being a fan is a lot about emotion and when fans get angry they lash out. Have you ever listened to sports talk radio after a tough loss? It's a long marathon season with plenty to talk about but your motive seems to be rehashing the past and instigation. Plenty of us have continued to try and engage you in thoughtful and meaningful conversation. Everything was going rather smoothly the last couple of weeks until you felt the need completely out of the blue to call everyone who is not in love with Cashman jerks. Now you're on to criticizing anyone who made a different prediction about the team. This idea that you somehow feel that you're better than everyone is pretty comical. I've concluded you have no purpose here except to remind everyone about how smart you think you are. Yes, you were ignored by folks who simply didn't want to deal with it anymore. Instead of lashing out at others at this point look at yourself in the mirror. It's not like I haven't told you very similar things several times over the past month.

Me, too. Alas, I'm here through May.

I remember a few years when study of immediate game box scores was washed out by time and distance. Myself US Army 1963-1986, and I salute both your and your contemporaries service to our country. Take care of your self, come home safe.

He comes off sounding like he's the ONLY one that wants to see players & the team succeed. His prediction of the Yankees winning 90 games & A-Rod doing well is a constant reminder. Many of us here thought closer to 82-85 wins & that A-Rod was going to fail. He (blg) took this to mean that that's what we wanted. NEWSFLASH! we're as happy as you are that both the Yankees & A-Rod are doing well. Now if you can just do without the chest beating things might be okay. Remember.......we're fans also.

Thank you sir, trying my best. ;)

Exactly! I'm thrilled that they're leading the race and giving us a fun season. We shall see what happens but none of us are hoping they lose.

Presently playing at that 85 win level....struggling to get past +10 in the win column.

I too am glad ARod is performing as it helps the team. He's still a piece of shit. I'm also happy to see Tex finally pull out of the OPS nosedive of 2008 to 2014. Few guys ever get out of a pronounced downturn like that. Pitching is staying healthy, knock on wood. So far they are beating my expectations....but the dog days are upon us, it'll be a good measure of their heart to win.

...my sentiments exactly.

Holy crap, you guys actually sound like you want the team to do well, that can't be right.

...^^^ just from reading some of rick's responses, there's little doubt about who he's talking to. Some things just never change and I don't know why rick even responds to him at all anymore.
Me either

Bravo and thank you good sir

Is Charlie playing football with Lucy again?
I literally just snorted food out through my nose from that one... tell you what... this cucumber dill salad sauce really burns coming out the nose (cayenne in the sauce)... But well worth it

Honestly at this point its pity, but I'm slowly but surly getting over that.

Mess, on the contrary, I believe I am no more "guilty" of not letting yesterday go than the vast majority of the average/regular poster on this board with Cashman - Drew - CC - Yankee ownership - the Yanks' "relying" too much on the HR - being the main CONSTANT repetitive complaints/topics while the Yankees have been in the process of have having a "pretty good" season thus far and certainly better than alot of people expected. In fact, I think I've been more normal, stable and sensible than a few of those others when it comes to appraising and evaluating this Yankee team

If you or any other observer of this board who doesn't happen to be one of those who CLEARLY have offered much more criticism than praise or compliments for this team, you may recognize and/or admit all the top heavy, much negativity and dissatisfaction being said about the team and org can and may be thought of by AT LEAST ONE observer/poster as being kinda inappropriate or in general slanted too often in the wrong direction since it has been continuing since APRIL 23 when the Yanks took over 1st place and have either been in first place for 54 days or no further than 1.5 games out of first place for another 21 days.

Lol,....jeez, now that I take another look at those numbers, ....I should really be having a nice big laugh but instead I find it puzzling and sorta weird......no, it is hilarious!

"Cashman this"....." Cashman that"......"Drew this and that"..."CC this and that"...."Cashman's plan"......LMAO.
Makes me want to blow a big fart and tell them all- LOOK WHO'S IN FIRST PLACE.
Now stop making fools of yourselves and wait AT LEAST until the Yanks start fading from the race to continue the constant barrage of anti-Cashman stuff and the causes of the Yankees' failure to contend.
And I'm well aware of the concept of IMPROVING a team.

I'm also proud to say I use the words "I agree" in replies to more different posters just as often and probably more often than most on this board.

I don't believe I'm always right and I HAVE, and WILL criticize Yankee players and the GM but I'm kinda putting it near the bottom of my priorities for the time being until if or when "they" actually personally drag this team out of contention- and it aint happening right now.

If you REALLY want to delve further into it....you may find at least one or two other posters who find fault more often with a couple of others and are quicker to lash out with personal insults while also giving ME the impression they think THEY are always "right".

I realize some may feel I'm more optimistic or homerific than other Yankee posters...that's fine with me...but I have also actually said more than once (although I've said from early on I feel the Yanks are just as good if not better than any other A.L East team) there's still time enough left in this season for the Yanks to possibly finish in last place. More than two months to go.....Not impossible for the Yanks to lose more games than the current last place team going forward from now, maybe due to injuries...whatever.
And what did I hear in return from the usual suspects (lol)...?
I was "back tracking" and "talking out of both sides of my mouth" when in fact I was merely recognizing and respecting the ebb and flow of the long season and all the things which can wrong for a team in the final two and a half months........yet I'm called a blind "homer".
I do believe the Yanks are, and will be in good shape but I am NOT a blind homer who thinks things will always be rosey.

I can't seem to "win" or be right about ANYTHING with a certain couple of mean spirited posters on this board. They have their opinions, and I have mine.
Sometimes I side step it....but sometimes I owe them a piece of my mind just as they feel the same way.

I have been wrong on some things, we all have...."we" can go over them if you'd like...but not until some other "Mr. Know It All" cares to prove he's never wrong.

Again, and I can make it short and sweet. A few weeks ago we had some negative issues on the board that came to a head. It took some doing and apologizing on my part to settle things down. Since that time the vibe here was very positive.

Then put of nowhere you're calling everyone jerks. For what reason? Because of Brian Cashman? There was zero reason or justification for what you did. It just sent things back in a negative direction. It's very frustrating. If you cannot move on from the past like everyone else has tried to do. Then I don't know what to tell you.

well said BLG, i don't even know where to begin.. joined the espn board years ago thinking the experience i had would fit in here somewhere, lol, but holy snikes, what a mistake i made! i really don't know what the goal is that the guys you are referring too are trying to do, imo, they have already gotten 1 board shut down, are they trying for 2? and let me be perfectly honest, i know 2 wrongs don't make it right, my intentions were to never get personal, or use any kind of profanity, not to respond after the constant barage is impossible , and then when you do it, they all attack, lol, as if you have no right to defend yourself , you get blamed for going on the attack, lol, then i'm told not to fan the flame and should be banned, stay away from the OT threads, lol, what the....

There are no issues at all with someone taking a position that goes completely again board consensus. But you have to realize you have a minority stake and its not personal when everyone challenges that stake. It's not personal, or piling on, everyone should get their fair shot and responding.

Now unfortunately these instances have been misinterpreted as personal attacks and then shit spirals out of control. It is the responsibility of the minority position poster to not escalate things out of control. Learn to back off, end the discussion or make piece. I personally have been on the short side of the discussion in at least three instances this year (and counting)....including my PEDs stance, Captain Gardner, and Rose to the HOF. Make your points and move on.

There is an art form to being in the dissent; it requires intellect to craft an argument, keen people senses to read your audience, and really think skin plus a short memory.

Agent provocateur is a role for a seasoned boarder.....not a rookie.

...lol...I'm just trying to figure out who shut down the ESPN board other than ESPN.

Nails it. There were quite a few tirades like that.
