Was being aggressive on a poor outfield arm but not the time to do it. The kid is struggling so no need to hand him outs.

Like I said so far with Tex it seems to be all or nothing. This just may be one of those seasons where he hits 30 HRs & drive in 100 but bats 220. Hell a guy by the name of Kingman made a career out of doing that.
 
...Tex makes the whole infield defense much better...in fact, this may be one of the better infield defenses I've seen...offensively, he's become Adam Dunn.

...and no, I don't wanna give back the 4 RBIs he's provided tonight.

Beltran looks like an old man out there. This is just plain bad.
 
Just play Young at this point. Beltran is horrid.
 
Good, I'm glad they ended that win streak and stayed on the hot streak.
 
Where could they be without the Greene/DD trade or Prado/Phelps????
 
Lately this team has seemed to bop like we'd hoped for last year. Starting pitching has seemed to go forward to enable the pen to be used as it Should. That kid pitching for the Mets tonight is a good one, remember he and Whitley facing each other last season. What would really be cool would be the Yanks throwing an L on Harvey tomorrow, easier said than done. Kicking National League ass always make me a happy camper.
 
For a subway series with very cold weather, the attendance was down.

I expected Tex to put up good power numbers this year as long as he gets his ABs because I believe his wrist wasn't quite 100% last year.

As for Tex becoming Kingman-like, I'm afraid I'll gladly accept that but don't forget to include sound 1b defense and the very good OBP.

...It's just being pointed out that instead of being a good all around hitter as he once was, he's simply become a very one dimensional hitter.
 
Had to laugh at the ESPN Crew. The Yankees won the game and all they could do was comment on the Mets this, the Mets that, playing away from him home yada, yada. Glad to see the team play improve but I still think that there have to be changes made if certain players don't make improvements.

I know, and at this point, I'll take those "Kingman-like" power numbers, but good dedense and good OBP must, and should be included.

Crybaby Mets, crybaby Collins....I remember a couple yrs ago when the Yanks hit a couple HRs vs the Mets at the Stadium and in the post game interview he complained about those being "Yankee Stadium HRs" .......but the funny thing is, he didn't mention how BOTH teams played in the same park and the kicker was when the two teams met later on at Citi Field, the Yankees hit more HRs than the Mets, at Cities Field.

Aside from the power #s I still wish Tex could be more of a situational hitter & punch one to the open left side from time to time.

Actually they'd be in a much better spot given the amount of parity in the league thus far.
No one can argue that Phelps/Greene haven't out pitched Warren/Eovaldi. As Cashman was going to bring back Drew anyway, Prado at 2B would be preferred over DiDi at SS.

On a larger point, you know you can be critical of the team AND still be the biggest fan?
 
It's early but Tex is second in MLB in homers and RBIs. He's also playing his usual excellent first base. I'll certainly take 30/100 out of him this season.

People were right about the AL East. When comparing the teams the Yankees aren't in too bad of shape and could steal this division.
