Ortiz was shot at close range in the back and the bullet came out of his belly. He has been operated on and is in stable condition.
Reports are pretty insufficient at this time as to how serious his injury is...

He is in stable condition. Bullets did not hit specific body parts. His father said he is resting and is
in comfortable condition.

According to Time Video the gunman was captures and beaten. Need more of that type of "justice" when these things happen. Hope Ortiz pulls through, I don't like to see anyone be the victim of violent acts.

The "Toddfather" lest we forget. If I remember correctly in his first AB as a Yankee he hit into a triple play. Displaced Head Case at 3rd but a better Cheer Leader than player.
