One way or another the Yankees are going to be in a battle for a playoff spot. I can see many Yankee fans
teetering out there with ‘ Can you be serious?’. Oh, I am serious. Who really believes that the Rays or Red Sux
are going away without a battle? Rays have the best pitching in the AL East Division. Bahstan has the hitting.
Yankees hitting has gotten stronger, but the pitching, at best, is sporadic. From one night to the next we just
do not know which pitcher will show up. And if Boner continues to sacrifice young arms for wins, he
automatically becomes another reason why there will be a race in the AL East.
 
Yankees playing the Mets at the friendly confines of Citifield. Mets to watch are Pete Alonso, Jeff McNeil,
Armed Rosario, & Michael Conforto. Get into Mets’ bullpen, chances are you can beat the crosstowners.
We shall see. Coming back from their London extravaganza may leave our guys somewhat weary.

When Paxton was still a Seattle Mariner a bald eagle did indeed land on Paxton’s shoulder.
He should have eagle eye control....we are still waiting!

From Eagles landing on his shoulder in Seattle to pigeons shitting on him in New York, Paxton needs to clean up his game.

LeMahieu has set a great example for the rest of this team to follow. Got the same fire and spirit of '78 Yankee Stalwarts Netles, Pinella, Thurman, Lyle and Gossage.

42 of his 48 RBIs and 4 of his 9 home runs have all come in RISP situations. With 32 hits in 67 such at bats, he's made himself one of the top clutch hitters in the entire MLB.

Tied with Seattle for the most losses; when winning after the 7th Inning, they go to Eo with his 3rd TJ Surgery and/or a new tendon or rubber band in his elbow; his 3rd. I'm not sure how many MLB players have ever had 3 TJ's, but I bet it's very very few.

Indians Odds are 0.7% for AL Pennant and 0.3% to Win the Series. Not much higher % to win a Series than the O's, thus Stampedehero's rationale for picking the O's to win it all....In other words if the Indians have that low of a chance and only 2/10ths difference between the Orioles and Indians; it can be done....

Dodgers have the overall highest Odds to Win the World Series. Odds to Win the NL Pennant are 45.3% and 27.5% to Win the World Series. Overall highest odds of all MLB Teams. Imho- I don't see the NL representative winning a World Series this year. Not unless Pitching trumps Hitting, as it did in 1990's Sweet Lou Series Sweep...

Beautiful small ball. I'd love to see more of it. The combination of small ball in three-run home runs is a beautiful thing.
 
If Judge used a Rickey Henderson batting stance / squat, his strike zone would be equivalent to your normal 6 foot ball player...
 
Surprises me Paxton hasn't had a better year. Maybe his knee problems were affecting him before his condition was obvious???
Paxton also had arm issues in his minor league days.

Paxton looks pretty damn good tonight, with a hard southpaw slicing flaming fastball of 98-97 mph.

Here's a breakdown of his knee problem earlier this year.

Paxton’s main concern stems from the affect the knee was having on his mechanics. The discomfort was causing him to occasionally open up his motion early, shifting his weight off his back leg – which would certainly account for a dip in velocity. Paxton has been treating the knee with ice, laser treatments and range of motion exercises, and there’s no reason at this time to think Paxton would be unable to continue this strategy moving forward. It’s certainly something to monitor, as Paxton is a critical piece of the New York rotation, going 3-2 so far with a 3.11 ERA and 12.4 K/9.
