Severino vs. Fiers

Lineups to follow...

Would you sign Happ??? Opinions anyone???

I would NOT consider a 3 yr contract, maybe a 2 year contrat with the 36 yr old Happ, tho' he's made many Happy. No way will Monty be ready next year & we probably won't even see him start working in Tampa until July August Maybe...

Should the Yankees pursue the 31-year old Keuchel who's making 13.5 million ?? Or- the 31 year old Garrett Richards who's making 7.5 million, or Patrick Corbin who's also making 7.5 million.

Or should they give the 36 yr old Happ a one-year contract if he will take it??
Your Thoughts plleeezzzzz- ???

Neither An-just-Du-it-Jar or Torres were a Factor last night...
MA- 0/4- H/ 1-SO/ 0-BB/ 0-R
GT 1/4-H/ 2-SO/ 1-Bb/ 0-R

Yanx 2/8 with RISP

Although a win a very sloppy one at that. First 6 innings were a TIGHT Pitching duel, i.e. Happ-y / Mengden...

A's held to only 2 Hits, 1-R, 9-SO's, & only 2 BB free passes, TIGHT...

10 Yankee SO's / 8 Hits enuff runs... still a bit sloppy and too many squandered opportunities...

This board called Voit the second coming of Shane Spencer way before Jack Curry’s tweet! Hey, Jack....
there is some real knowledge on the board.

Yep that's exactly why I put that tweet up, lol, Yanx could use some new consultants...

This boards weeks, light years ahead of the rest....
Let us as a group take over Hal & Trashman's job(s).
Maybe DiBitetto will run the dugout for baBoone.... Lol-

A little something to break up the monotony of the next 4 hours...

I will not be using my effing Android tonight. It drives me crazier than I already am. About ready to throw it to the bottom of the pool or take a sledgehammer to it....
Where's the Yoo-hoo....

After all th crap I've heard Dallas Kacle spew about how much he hated the "Evil Empire" I wouldn't sign that red neck Son of a Bitch to a Club House Latrine Cleaning contract. Lookingin after the season I'd offer Happ a One Year Deal with incentives. I give Corbin & Richard both a good look. Biggie will probably not be back

^^^^.....

:biglaugh: :roflmao:

Music to my ears thank you YanxFan-!! :smiley-marinesalute

Not even cleaning out the toilets got to love it... 13.5 Mil-$$, and ya' know he's going to be looking for probably 17.5-20 Mil$$... Overpaid, overhyped imho....

The Oky Tulsa boy is too inconsistent on the mound and loose in the head to badmouth His Daddy t/Yanx...

On the other hand Corbin's having the best year of his career imo, after a 2014 TJ surgery. I've long been impressed with Corbin; he was sensational in his first full yr 2013, 208.1 IP, /636 Win% 8.2 H-9IP/ 2018 .667 Win% 7.0 H-9IP... making 7.5 Mil $$$

Richards has been down for TJ Surgery; I'd wait for Monty, but like ya' said CC's probably won't be back, at least imho Trashman would be making a mistake if he offered him another yr. CC looks done...

Lookin' at Kookle numbers: he's a roller coaster
2015- 20-8/2.48 ERA/ 7.2 H-per 9 IP/ Cy Young Yr
2016- 9-12/ 4.55 ERA/ 9.0 H-per 9 IP
2017- 14-5/ 2.90 ERA/ 7.2 H-per 9 IP
2018- 11-10/3.46 ERA. 9.0 H-per 9 IP

I think of this classic Don Williams tune when I see Kookle...
Well, there I was in Hollywood wishin' I was doin' good
Talkin' on the telephone line
But they don't need me in the movies and nobody sings my songs
Guess I'm just wastin' time
Well, then I got to thinkin', man I'm really sinkin'
And I really had a flash this time
I had no business leavin' and nobody would be grievin'
If I went on back to Tulsa time

someone take the Pretzels away from M. Kay okay, he's become pretzel logic....
You Manage in t/Bronx you hit the ground running, no time for learning curves, or learning how to manage an effin' bullpen... Success is measured by WS Rings, not AL or AL East pennants...

D-Rob throws too many pitches imho, keeping me on the edge of my seat, but then what Yanx Reliever doesn't ???
nervous as a whore in church....

Looking forward to seeing Mike King one day in the Bronx....

MOOSIC, PA (September 1, 2018) - The International League has announced that Scranton/Wilkes-Barre pitcher Michael King has been tabbed as the Player-of-the-Month for August. King went 3-0 with a 1.09 earned run average over five starts; his first five outings in Triple-A.

The New York Yankees acquired the right-hander along with international bonus pool money last November in a trade with the Miami Marlins for infielder Garret Cooper and pitcher Caleb Smith. King was initially selected by the Marlins out of Boston College in the 16th round of the 2016 First-Year Player Draft.

King made his Triple-A debut on August 5 and allowed one run on three hits over seven innings with four strikeouts. He earned his first win for the RailRiders on August 12 at Durham after allowing two runs on six hits over 6.2 innings pitched. The 23-year-old from Rochester, New York, proceeded to reel off wins in each of his next two starts against Norfolk and Lehigh Valley. King worked a seven-inning, complete game against the Tides on August 18 and carried a no-hitter into the seventh in his start against the IronPigs on August 24. Despite taking a no-decision in his final start of the month, King pitched six perfect innings against Syracuse before being lifted this past Wednesday.

King is the third RailRider over the past three seasons to be honored as International League Player-of-the-Month, following Aaron Judge in June of 2016 and Jake Cave in July of 2017.

Brandon Duckworth was the last Scranton/Wilkes-Barre pitcher to earn International League Player-of-the-Month honors, accomplishing the feat in July of the 2001 season.

Scranton/Wilkes-Barre hosts Pawtucket tonight in the final home game of the 2018 regular season. The RailRiders hold the Wild Card spot with three games remaining, just ahead of Toledo and Indianapolis. The day's festivities begin at 4:00 p.m. with a FanFest outside PNC Field and a first pitch slated for 6:35 p.m. Fireworks will follow the final out. ...I thinking more along the lines of a one year deal with a TEAM option for a second year.

Severino needs to pitch a quality game, Stanton needs to cut the Hunter Ceiling Fan act, team need to tighten up the "D" and get out of there with a series win.

^^^^.....

Thanx 59, that sounds like probably the smartest deal. I doubt Happ would sign for one year without an option for the second...
Happ Looked pretty spot-on last night and seems to enjoy playing in the Bronx a key feat few can handle....
