Game Thread Yankees vs. Orioles Wednesday 9/09/15, 7:05pm

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

Just one example proving the Nats have literally psyched
themselves out of this year's playoffs.

Last night was the last straw. You can't blow a 7-1 lead at home. The Mets can now sleep walk until they officially clinch.

Do any of you guys know who The NY FOOTBALL GIANTS are playing on Sunday? I am too lazy to look right now. lol

There's another team with no hopeful outlook.

Losing 2 of 3 to O's at home is not hopeful, and
downright embarrassing.

And going down 1-2-3 without a sniff of a comeback! Yes.
DISGRACEFUL!

I'm sorry but this is just disgraceful.

Nice job tonight, you got a gift from Boston and instead of accepting it you let Baltimore pee all over it.

...poor showing by the Yanx...now they've gotta take at least 2 of 3 from the Jays.

Losing 2/3 at home to a team which had lost something like 15 of their last 18 games is inexcusable.
Imo, these last two losses fall in the lap of the offense- unable to score more than 3 runs in either game (one yesterday).

As of now...the answer is NO, this product is NOT "producing".

We can go over every single loss if we like, but right NOW- I'm looking at losing 5 games to Cleveland in thirteen days in August, and now dropping 2/3 at home to this Baltimore team as the single clearest, latest reason why the Yanks are 1.5 games out of first place.

And we now face a situation where Toronto could possibly blow the division open by Monday.

Well, we shall NOW see what this team is made of.
Kinda exciting....with some gallows humor mixed in.

Safe to say, tomorrow either starts the the beginning of the end, or the beginning of something "special".

Need that prime ticket to the tournament- division title.

It's frustrating because the pitching hasn't been bad at all. This offense is just one extreme or the other. When they're off they give the pitchers no room for error. As I had mentioned the Yankees are now 19-17 since August first. Out of those 17 loses they have scored 2 or less runs 12 times. Meanwhile out of the 19 wins they scored double digit runs five times (12, 13, 13,15 and 20), 8 runs four times. In the 17 loses they were outscored 79-30 and in the 19 wins they outscored the opposition 143-65. One extreme or the other and as that variance chart pointed out they have the largest in MLB.

...his throwing motion just looks weird to me...seems like he's guiding it instead of simply throwing it....looks too mechanical.

I didn't get to see last nights game, but did see the Lowlights. Looked to me, like Headley was trying to throw a dart, more than sling shot sidearm, or even throw the ball over the top, he looked confused, in that flash of a second, and..........of course Drew IMO, should of had the catch with no prob...........all I needed to ask about, the rest speaks for itself......

Variances, its like watching a Schizophrenic Team, who only lives for highs, but always has more than there share of lows......

...lol...hard hit balls right at fielders still count as outs just as dribblers or bloopers still count as base hits...it evens out.

...but Gregorius with 2 outs and RISP is hitting .169.

Like to go to Rivers Avenue Blues for post game comments. Saw that Drew play, Jesus Christ the crowd booed the hell out of that guy. Yankees should have let him go back in April. For right now this team better hope for a split with Toronto and try to get the ship right.

Lol, .169 two outs w/risp.....
Sure would be nice if that number was higher...
But we're not CHERRY picking are we?

DiDi:
w/risp .250
Runners on .258
bases loaded (12ab) .500
Late and xlose .260
7-9 inn .277
Extra inn .308

Overral, DiDi is far from bad in "big" or more intense situations.
If we have to count on our 9th place hitter to get two out RBI, the Yanks are in bigger trouble than we know. imho

It's not cherry picking if you had cared to have paid attention to the original comment that was made by Yankeefan5545 which specifically mentioned Didi with runners in scoring position and two outs.

I know....just tossed the other numbers in for some perspective in regards to Didi's overall performance in other more intense/important situations because I just felt as though Didi was sorta being made out to be a scapegoat.

The kid has been one of the better more pleasant surprises for the season, HOWEVER, it could be unfortunate and leave a bad taste in our mouths if he happens to come up at bat ALOT in the remaining games in crucial situations where he fails big time and the Yanks lose the game. At this point, I just don't see him being one of the bigger problems or reasons for the Yanks struggling along and being basically a .500 team for quite a while.

That's all.

Didi's defense will be more relied upon then anything else come PS, if we don't choke it away! Although he has played well as of late , I have seen him play timid in reg season games with meaning. Hoping for the best.

Nobody is killing Didi. Someone during he game last night simply pointed something out. Regardless, he's a professional ball player. He's not immune to criticism when and if he does fail.

I missed last night, (due to getting another Epidural), are you saying a Game Analysts mentioned something, or a Poster????????

A poster mentioned it after Didi made an out with runners on and two outs.

50 out of what, 57 times?

10/60.....and, why do I get the inkling one could be hoping for DiDi to "fail" because of prejudice against Cashman and to help bolster the inaccurate narrative that Dombrowski "owns" Cashman in ONE to ONE dealings/trades?
