Yankee Fans: Blame Aaron Boone and Larry Rothschild For Disappointing Start
April 15, 2019 2

The New York Yankees have begun the 2019 season with a very disappointing start. So, who could be blamed for this disaster? The Yankees started off the 2019 season as World Series favorites, but now 16 games into the season, they have a 6-9 record while looking like a little league team with their lack of energy and urgency.

They currently sit 5.5 games out of first place and with 11 players currently on the IL it doesn’t look like things are going to change anytime soon. So, this leads us to the question, who should be blamed for the Yankees disappointing start?

To answer the question simply, it’s difficult to blame anyone for just bad luck and poor production, but if there is one direction to put the blame in it would be towards the coaching staff. Particularly, Aaron Boone and Larry Rothschild. Yankees: What Happened To Chad Green?
Since taking over as Yankees manager Aaron Boone has gotten on the bad side of many Yankees fans due to his lackadaisical mindset and how he never provides this team with any sense of urgency. Sometimes when teams are struggling they need to have a fire lit underneath them in order to get back on track, but Boone will never be that guy to do it.
Third base coach Phil Nevin was forced to take this role last season when the team was struggling in Detroit and he really let them know that they needed to step their game up.
At times it seems like Boone is too worried about being ‘one of the guys’ in the clubhouse rather than taking a leadership role. We all know that Boone will not be around for much longer, but for the time he is the Yankees manager we would at least like him to act like he cares whether or not this team actually does good.

Another member of the coaching staff that should be taking some blame is long-time pitching coach Larry Rothschild. This is mainly because of newly acquiree James Paxton tipping pitches against the Houston Astros and Carlos Beltran needing to be the guy to point this out to him (aka the man who should have been named manager). It should be the pitching coach who spots these things and brings them to the pitcher’s attention, but maybe Rothschild was too busy conversing with the analytics team as to what was going wrong. Yankees: Potential Trade Deadline Targets On Sunday afternoon’s game against the Chicago White Sox, we all saw a prime example as to how important a strong pitching coach is to a ballclub. Starting pitcher Carlos Rodón was struggling so their pitching coach came out and lit a fire underneath him, following the visit Rodón was simply untouchable. Meanwhile, Masahiro Tanaka began struggling and all Larry Rothschild did was sit on the bench and converse with Boone. Nonetheless, the Yankees need leadership that will squeeze the most talent out of this team despite all of the brutal injuries.

It’s time for everyone to stop blaming the disappointing start on injuries and start blaming it on poor coaching and lack of leadership.

" we are close to turning the corner" BaBoone

Boone is a positive force, but at this point it’s pretty much a see-no-evil world. “I really do think we are in a sound place as far as our focus, our energy, our expectations when we walk through those doors,’’ Boone said after this latest loss. “We are dealing with adversity right now, which is part of the big-league season. You got to navigate that, you got to grind through the tough times, but as far as where we are in our mindset and our intent and our focus, I think we’re fine. Hopefully we can get it starting to roll when we come here on Tuesday.’’ SEE ALSO The Yankees don’t look like a team ‘close to turning the corner’ Break out the popcorn...

"But these rose colored glasses, that I'm looking through, show only the beauty, but they hide all the truth" John Conlee '78 (Boner is lost in the sauce.)

Per Costas on MLB neither manager of the two "super teams" is overly concerned about their teams current standing. Sounds like a bunch of BS to me. Costas, he's another one of those politically correct munchkins dealing his own brand of &&(*^^&_(-. But better a broadcast by Costas and Kaat than Vasgergitation, Ahole, and the Bimbo.

What rivalry, per Costas Cora & Boner man hugging prior to the game. Billy Martins gang used to kick ass at game time and win the brawls. Note to Millar the real 15 was Thurman Munson and you (Millar) are not even close!

Last on Tauchman, "an inexperienced hitter".

Watch Tauchman open his hips much to soon; making the outside pitch Impossible to hit.

LeMahieu drives in Capr Sailing Shoes...

The Yankees just dodged a bullet as lemahieu scores on Voit's RBI single.
Bradley threw to Nunez at 2nd, had the ball not been in the dirt; Judge would have been out.
Would LaMahieu touched the plate b4 Judge would've been thrown out??? Whew !!!!!!

Fly out to Judge, shallow RF. Runners hold.

Pearce fanned by Paxton 1st go round, down in the dirt, lmao.

2nd flyout to Judge runners hold. Pearce cries. 2 on 2 out.
Strike 3 called ball 2, strike 4.

the Yanx dodge what could have been a two-run home run within inches

Nice recovery by Paxton. You don't tug on Supermans Cape, You don't spit in the wind, and you don't run on Judge.

Yankees learn how to play small ball as tauchman drives in Romine wow. Yankees score Bosox 0. Only one home run / RBI in this game

Methinks Sale will remain winless today.
Yanx got his goat then BBQ'd it.
Punjabi Vindaloo ...

Beautiful form, even if the hips are out of sync at times.

Tauchman's 1st RBI as a Yankee...!!!

His hips didn't flyout as in his 1st PA

I wonder how well Tauchman can play first base ??? Mmm - Bye Bye Birdie!!!
He's retimed his hips like a Disco king...
