RHP - Luis Severino (4-3, 3.10 ERA)

VS.

RHP - Erik Johnson (3-0, 3.52 ERA)

This team has only scored a TOTAL of 7 runs over there last 4 games so here's hoping the Yankees can give this kid a lot of support today.

Today's lineup....................

CF - Ellsbury
LF - Gardner
DH - Beltran
C - McCann
1B - Bird
2B - Ackley
SS - Gregorius
RF - Heathcott
3B - Ryan

Seems like its been awhile since this team has had a 7-8 run game. Few & far between.

Hey Rick you have to check out these idiots playing Family Feud on Yes Network.com. Funny shit.......Maybe they should be hitting the batting cage instead.....Lmao

Looks to be a good pitching match up. Hitting?
Not so much a priority these days.
A-roid gets a legit day off. Yeah, I know. He's
been off for a while!

...vs a RHer today...Yanx offense will finally break through with 11 runs.

In my back yard I've got two by fours with boobies on them more useful than Ellsbury and Gardner.

To quote Bill the cat....

Heathcock continues to impress when healthy.

Maybe the Pitching Machine, in those batting cages, should be hitting 'them'.

I miss not being able to swing a bat. In the day I lived in one, (cage & pitching machine), in my own backyard, literally....

One of the best things I ever did for My 3 Son's. Other than buying the Cage, was no doubt-taking the eldest to 'The Rod Carew School of Hitting.' (In the Spring of 87).......2 hours of One on One Instruction (from Carew); 1 day per week for 8 weeks.....

The coolest thing other than one on one with one of MLB greats, was seeing Rod with an open school for the public's kids....

Upon retiring in 1986, Rod decided he would devote his time to working with children. He realized a life long dream in the spring of 1987 when The Rod Carew Baseball School opened in Placentia, California.
The 7,400 square foot state-of-the-art hitting laboratory was a tremendous success from the day its doors opened.

Yankees again beat a shit team, lots of opportunities wasted in the late innings, nice to see one of the "other" bull pen guys earn his pay today. Be nice to cap off the season by kicking the crap out of Boston & Baltimore.

It's apparent Seve is going to be around for a long time, I hope, barring injury....

Sevy, when he's out there you can sit back and enjoy the game. When Girardi sends him out there he can whistle the Don Williams tune "I've Got A Winner In You"

They are definitely two bright spots for the future but as I've said, we'll have to see what they do with Bird when Teixeira comes back next year.

Tex & Bird could alter at DH & First if they could find a way to get rid of A-hole.

I think there will be plenty of ABs available for Bird next season between the 1B and DH positions.

Vic I love your optimism & I hope you're right but I don't know where the'll come from since A-Rod will end up with well over 500 ABs & Teixeira was on his way with well over 500 ABs also.

I don't see neither Tex or Arod holding up enough for that and over a course of 162 games it wouldn't make sense to do so. Arod clearly hit a wall by being pushed this year and while this year's injury to Tex was freakish he has also shown durability issues.

Hitting a wall Vic is an understatement concerning A-Rod,

April / May = 281
June / July = 282
Aug / Sept = 181

That's why I easily see a situation where Arod and Bird share the DH role and then Bird also gets his fair share of game at 1B to spell Tex.

At this point, every other day off, would enable #13 to stay afloat. He does IMO look tired, especially when He runs, not to confuse his speed without considering His age, and surgeries on Both Hips. Yep, he could use every other day off next year. But if Tex falls again to injury, which he over-prone too. Then what, play Bird daily, bring up Judge, let Beltran and #13 alternate as DH...???
