Saw an article on former White Sox Pitcher Billy Pierce passing. Pierce & Ford had some hellacious duels back when I first became a fan. Those were cool days, but in 2015 lets see the Yankees kick Danks right in the a@@ and make D-rob wish he hadn't left. Good luck to Mitchell nice to see some young blood in there.

Kinda exciting.
Yanks ARE going with two of their young "system" pitchers to try and improve and stabilize the rotation including Severino (vs Boston).
A fairly large game not only for Mitchell, but also for the Yanks as things have heated up in the division race as teams have made "moves" and the Yanks opted to go with what they have organizational wise.

In spite of the Yanks being up 6 games, I get the feeling it's "closer" than that with the Yanks having issues with the rotation.

Going into the season, "we" sort of expected the Yanks may eventually need to dip into their minors for pitching help with the CC "thing", Tanaka's previous health issue, Nova returning from surgery, how the Eovaldi trade would work out, possible injuries....
....and here we are, the Yanks have, and are making "adjustments" and doing it mostly (so far) with the system.

I'm getting anxious and a bit excited while knowing it's still quite possible things won't work out. It is what it is, let the chips fall where they may?

Go Yanks!

FU MLB for killing Saturday afternoon baseball.

Thats OK, our older guys play better at night.

In comparing the two the ESPN night games are unwatchable. The announcing is horrid and even without extras the games are usually ending at midnight.

The Jays lost so obviously this would be a nice game for the Yankees to get.

Ellsbury what the hell are you swinging at? Time to wake the f up already.

He's been slumping really badly. Not the same player he was before the injury.

He swung at a pitch earlier to strike out that a little league player would've taken.

Everyone seems to have their head up their ass tonight.

Good night and of course it's Melky and his idiotic haircut who busts it open. A real no show effort tonight.

Man, this game went sour real fast in the 5th.

I was expecting Mitchell to have a solid night, Moreno too. I guess the Yankee Gods must be angry.

Ironic name Rum-below....
Mom's favorite drink. ..?

At least Rum-below put up 0's for an inning

Okay we'll get them tomorrow.

OK, already. I get you are angry! lol

Rob your stuttering is getting a lot worse.

Another Yankee Starter fails to go five. An old Brook Benton song has a line "it's just a matter of time" .

Mitchell has a very good moving fastball - alot of "life" to it, the kind of fastball which cannot be "taught"... natural movement..... and his breaking ball is quick and sharp.
But it seeemed to flatten out and move laterally across tne strike zone much to frequently which will probably be his biggest problem.
Basically a two pitch pitcher which can work for now as he develops some other off speed pitch (changeup), but he MUST improve his command of his breaking ball before we begin to see any semblance of good consistent pitching.

Okay- 2/3 mode in effect .....let's get 'em tomorrow.

...yup, and even against the White Sox, who are one of the worst offenses in all of Baseball, there's nothing positive that can be taken from Mitchell's start (9 base runners and 4 runs in 4 innings) and Moreno, who was so highly exalted after his initial 15 minutes of fame, was so bad that the Yanx immediately shipped his ass back down to the minors.
...Yanx pitchers must improve.
