Re: OT Yao to possibly miss next season and beyond

7' 4" is pretty short?

Well you know in the right context. Like pretty short for a grocery bag boy. Which is what he was when he was found by the Jazz. :devilwink:

My mom once broke that same bone that Yao broke - the navicular bone. It never healed right and she always had pain there. That is a bad bone to break.

I feel bad for him and Houston - we all saw what a special talent Yao is, especially in Game 1.

She was my starting small forward that season in my fantasy league!

A total side note, but Shaq is just a freak physically. How he hasn't broken down yet is one of life's great mysteries.
in shaq's 4th-6th seasons he missed an average of 27 games per season. and the 3 years before this one he missed an average of 28.67 games per season. he's missed an average of 15 games per season over his career. he's not exactly a great example of durability.

He's still playing at a high level after 16 years and is the size of a sasquatch. That was my point. "Broken down" isn't the same thing as "injured" or "missing games".

it is impressive that shaq hasn't completely broken down, i was just point out that as durable as he's been for a big man, he still isn't relatively durable at all for a normal player.

Well, with all the playoff games included, he's played over 19 seasons in terms of available games. There aren't a lot of players his size to compare him with in terms of games played.

Out of his 190, how many playoff games has he missed due to injury? I don't know the answer to that question.
