OT Yet another reason to bring Cousins (1 Viewer)

I told you guys when Neil went after Kanter and some of you complained to no end, adding a player in the NBA is kinda like going out clubbing looking for the perfect girl:

It depends. I think Boogie is about 7/10 crazy, that is relatively manageable.

When you think about it, Rodman was like 9.9/10 crazy and it worked out great for Chicago.

When you think about it, Rodman was like 9.9/10 crazy and it worked out great for Chicago.

I like the 7/10 crazy idea. Is there like a graph or something that you can get a reading off of? Maybe a hand held crazy measuring meter device?

You know for a long time i really was on the fence because i always want to give a guy another chance and i do feel sometimes that they just need another environment. But unless they can get him for next to nothing which might be the case with the way things are going i just don't see the Blazers taking a chance on a guy like that.
The one thing that stands out about that list is it does seem a bit media driven. Cousins might be a great locker room guy and he might very well be a missing link but what happens if they give up Plumlee and Meyers and a couple of picks to get him and he totally destroys the chemistry and wastes 2 or 3 Years of Lillard? That is just too high a price to pay for a mistake like that. It could go very very wrong.

Yeah thats basically how I look at it. If we signed Cousins as a free agent and could see how it works without giving up assets sure give him a shot. But the cost to acquire him is going to be very significant; and there's a ton of risk it backfires.

Yeah thats a good example. Rodman was defensive player of the year and a multi-time champion so he had accomplished far more than Cousins. Rodman was acquired via trade for Will Perdue. If we only have to give up Will Perdue sure go kick the tires on Cousins.

That would be like trading Kaman for Cousins right now. But the cost to acquire Cousins will be multiple young players and multiple first round picks. Possibly CJ. No effin way!

This is the gold standard for "crazy." Marvin Barnes gets the silver, and Rodman limps home with the bronze. Cousins isn't even close!

Cousins is considered a thug, has 14 Ts on the year. Green has 13, but isn't considered a thug. Winning cures all.

The year Detroit won it, they won because they played as a team, they didn't have anyone that was a "super star". It was a bunch of #2 or #3 options playing well together. Yet they were full of guys considered to be "thugish". Just cause you are a hot head doesn't mean you will kill a locker room.

You REALLY need to stay the fuck outta my head... I don't know what kinda limitless pill you're taking, but it really hurts when you use your friggin' Professor X powers to know exactly WTF I'm thinking!

Cousins seems a lot like Randolph. Amazing talent but a head case and may need to be traded to get himself in line. Cousins is way to good to not take a chance on especially since if he doesnt' work out here his trade value will still be really high and we can easily retrade him.
Would be awesome to trade for him on the draft and then get to call Durant up in FA and tell him "who else can give you two young players the caliber of Cousins/Dame to play next to".

Very good post. However, let me give the following review of his time in SacTown:

year 1: Sac Sucks
year 2: Sac Still Sucks
year 3-5: Sac picks up mediocre vets, screws up drafts, fire good coaches, hires bad ones, and still suck.
year 6: They're thinking about blowing up the team because they STILL suck.

WHEN IS BOOGIE GONNA GET SOME LEGIT HELP? He's not (in Sacramento), and certainly not young legit help. Their personnel has sucked for 6 years. I'm sure that me and many of you would be completely frustrated by the situation. Yes, he's less mature, so he hasn't handled it well. Regardless, it's clear to me that the Excremento Kings management is to blame. Frankly, their fans deserve better.
