@oldfisherman I was not meaning to knock or insult your original post or thread title. Just having some fun. No insult or slight intended.

Nah, I knew going into this that I would take flack over it. My first line should have been a clue.
It is a very crazy idea, it probably will not happen, and most of you, if not all, will hate it.

The only regret I have over making this thread is I now feel worse about the state of the team, not better. It is going to take a very crazy idea and a miracle to fix this team.

Look at this. The damn dog apologizing.

Damn dog is up to their old tricks again.

That is because SPD knows mine is loaded, and I know how to use it.

It was brought to my attention that there might some hesitation or complete non interest in attending the skybox game due to some of my posts and opinions in the OT section.

Like I care what a dog thinks. :ghoti:

lol, that is funny, though - I have thoughts about that since I have met you several times... but this is not the OT section.

Anyone who doesn't want to attend a Blazer game because they don't like your political bent can get bent.

I really wanted to go to the game and meet everyone. BUT.
For the past 2 weeks or so, I have been battling old age medical problems.

The good news is, I am feeling better and starting to get out a little. But, I do not want to push it. All my travel plans have been postponed.

As a side note, who knew pain killers could taste so good? I now understand how people get hooked on them. The hardest part of this ordeal was to stop taking the pain killer pills. Pot is starting to look like a fun option as well.

Getting old sucks, and those are the good days.

I would imagine it has less to do with my opinions and more about me being a snarky asshole.

Good to hear you're getting better! Enjoy your presence here!

We won't get a first round pick for Meyers, best case scenario we manage to offload him for a second round pick and an expiring. Harkless could actually fetch a future protected 1st round pick, as could Plumlee and maybe Vonleh.

If Harkless were still shooting the three-ball well, I'd agree that he could fetch a protected first-rounder. If his three-point shooting turns out to be a one- to two-month fluke, he's actually slightly overpaid and not really valuable enough for a team to send a first-rounder, in my opinion.

I also think you're overvaluing Vonleh. His scoring efficiency is incredibly poor and he's not currently a good defender. His athleticism and age mean he still has some upside, but he's in the NBA long enough that he's no longer a particularly promising prospect. I think he's currently more valuable to Portland as a player than he would be as a trade chip. Portland is at a stage where they can just play him more and think of him like a lottery ticket--low chance of hitting on it, but a potentially large reward. As a trade chip, he'd just be filler, not someone who'd bring back value himself. In my opinion.

I agree that Plumlee could likely bring back a mid-first-round pick.

I wonder if the Bulls would be interested in Meyers? Hoiberg's offense is built around the three ball, but his dumb front office gave him Wade and Rondo, two of the worst 3-point shooters. I think Hoiberg would love a player like Leonard. Wonder if we could get Bobby Portis for Meyers.
