Notice Young: Blazers “Would Execute a Trade For Aldridge,” Per Source

I could actually see this happening and snark aside.....he'd make us better as well as have his going home moment like Lebron going to Cleveland. He is a very good piece in Stotts system. If he comes back, I'll deal with it ok. He's 10 years older than Vonleh who I hope we keep around

Spurs apparently asking for a top 10 pick and some cap relief to sign an FA.

I don't see him coming back. When he was here he required the ball so much and he wants to be that player again. Not on this squad. He would have to play different. Dame is the man now, with CJ and Nurk behind him. Lamarcus would be 4th option and damn, really amazes me CJ said that. Wonder what Dame would say to this proposal. I think he felt most hurt by it at the time. Dame tried so hard to coexist with him

I'd strongly consider sending Crabbe + Aminu for Aldridge... would do some damage to the cap situation when he opts out after the season.

I hate to say it, but this might be our best/most realistic move to better the team.

With that said I would sit Dame down and make sure he is cool with it and then I would sit LMA down and make sure its crystal clear he is our third option and the need is for him to focus on rebounding, defense and setting picks.

Probably what Pop told him...

If he isnt 100% agreement, no thanks....

League sources inform Jabari Young of San Antonio Express-News that the Portland Trail Blazers have not ruled out a reunion with All-Star forward LaMarcus Aldridge, who the Spurs are said to be shopping. Portland could attempt to bring the polarizing big man back with a combination of first-round draft picks and current players.

A league source told the Express-News that Portland Trail Blazers would execute a trade for Aldridge to reunite him with star Damian Lillard. Aldridge, who played nine seasons in Portland, but left the Blazers in 2015 to sign with the Spurs. The Blazers haven’t closed the door completely on a possible return. The team would be willing to complete a trade for Aldridge for matching salary only, according to a league source.

The Blazers do have three first-round picks in the draft, starting with the No. 15 selection, as well as No. 20 and 26.

The Spurs interest in moving Aldridge would likely depend on how much salary they can free up in pursuit of a marquee free agent.

If Portland were inclined to bring Aldridge back, he would be the second, or possibly third, scoring option behind point guard Damian Lillard and shooting guard CJ McCollum, who has flourished since the initial Aldridge-focused setup dissolved in 2015.

If it was as simple as his game declining, that would be one thing, but he still has the piss poor attitude that made me completely okay with him leaving in the first place. He's a cancer. He clearly never bought into the Spurs culture. Why would we want him back here?

This might be the best thread I've ever read.

LA better not be a blazer again. Ever. You burned the bridge, and we have no one that wants to fix that bridge.
