In the heat of the moment, or still feel this way?
Im not sure... I am scared that its in CJ’s / Dame’s heads at this point that they simply cant beat them, I mean that was partially just heat of the moment. I think that a lot of sports is mental though, every single player is an elite athlete (with few exceptions), but when a team so clearly has your number, that can really quickly get in your head. Seemed like once GS came back in game 2, that in 3 and 4 the Blazers as a group just knew...

Edit: Id feel better about it if it was the 1st or 2nd time losing like that in the playoffs to GS, the fact it was there third time... Definitely gives me pause, and a lot of it...

I agree with it being mental, but I don't think its in their head they cant beat them I think they are smart enough to know things may changer and to not give up.

However I think at this level, what separates the great form elite, is confidence in themselves.

I think Dames got elite confidence but even his body language at times was like, he just could not figure out the GS puzzle. I dunno it was brutal to give up those leads.

Mi think he was thinking. Not happening this year. But i have a nurk next year!!!

Pain? Lol, speaking for myself here, but anything after the OKC series was icing. As the Denver series went on I got more annoyed, but that was mainly because of their fanbase. Didn’t care too much about the Warriors series. I’m ok with losing to a superior team, especially when Portland’s X factor against them is injured.
See.....Your a realist. I wanted at least the home games against GS. The three point and this OT loss were benchmarks for team failure.

Wow according to holdahl and freeman in their latest podcast the blazers were discussing a deal to land Otto Porter at the deadline and they were close until Washington pulled out last minute (aka found something better aka expirings)

Freeman is of the opinion that the blazers could package the pick with Harkless for a player in the $10-12m range.

They also think Hood gets more than the tax MLE.

We going for AD...

Anthony Davis and Solomon Hill for Evan Turner, Moe Harkless, Zach Collins, Anfernee Simons, 2019/2021 1st round draft picks
Not even close to being enough.

Mustve been the large salary Neil was talking about.

Shit. He wouldve been perfect. Sigh.

Here's my keepers for next year. I'd trade/let walk the rest of our roster, maybe keep Aminu/Harkless for backups(s).

C: Jusuf Nurkic, Enes Kanter
PF: Meyers Leonard, Zach Collins
SF: NEED A STARTER HERE
SG: CJ McCollum, Rodney Hood
PG: Damian Lillard*, Seth Curry
Apparently tu have no CBA knowledge. How the hell do we keep Curry, Hood, and Kanter...?

At least it shows me Olshey was trying to get multiple wings. Harkless played better in the second half but that should still be the focus. Just gotta find someone in that 10-12m range that fits.

I fear itll be someone like T.J. Warren. Please Neil, dont go after Warren.

I'm sorry, this loss is ALL on Stotts. I see no other one to blame. Our team is equipped to play many defensive schemes.

But when you have a punk ass coach who doesn't input schemes all season and attempts to do it on the fly, IN THE FUCKING PLAYOFFS....

The more I look at his offense the more I see how BASIC it is compared to the other teams in the playoffs.

He's GOT to go.
I think this was posted just minutes before Stotts was extended. Just doing a welfare check on you, my man.

I wonder if Robert Covington is available
I doubt it would be cheap, especially considering they’re in division and they gave up Butler for him.

Best I’d give for him would be Moe, Trent, and 25.

I thought Olshey said that the biggest name he was after didn't get traded, I could be wrong though.

Porter is a weird fit for Chicago. I could see him being traded again this summer.

Yeah that’s how I remember it as well. My guess back then was Blake Griffin.

Would you guys trade ET, Harkless, and Leonard for Porter if we had to take back Felicio too? He still has two years and $15.7 million left on his deal. It adds salary two years from now but saves us $6 million this year. We could maybe swap our pick 25 for their 38 too to sweeten it a little more if needed.

I like Porter but I'm not sure if I'd do that.

Yes.

I bet they’d be open to it if we took on Dieng.

Covington, Dieng for Meyers, Moe and #25.

I doubt it. He would be a 2nd straight time 1st team Defense if not for his injury. To most teams he would be even more valuable than CJ and he has an incredible contract.

Oh maybe he did.

I dont think theyll move him, but if he's on the market, we have to go after him. I guess if Chicago drafts Reddish (or Culver or Hunter) at 7, then they may look to move him. I expect them to take Coby White.

I definitely would.

Instead of Porter, I would go for Luka Samanic at pick 25. Porter was out with a shoulder injury at the end of the season.

Thats not a lasting injury and Samanic wont contribute for at least a couple years and is likely to never be as good as Porter is now.

Casey and Joe are convinced that Seth is gone and that Simons will comfortably replace him as a mainstay in the rotation next season.

Other nuggets:
-Blazers will try like hell to make a trade for a player and the pick will be dangled all over.
-Employees have been told there are no immediate plans to sell the team and Jody is fully invested. "she is NOT interested in selling the team."

Julius Randle has been mentioned here before and that’s pretty intriguing in a sign and trade scenario. His playmaking ability out of the four would be huge and his outside shot has improved. Pelicans are rebuilding too so they’d probably be open to taking on an expiring in return for assets instead of cap space. Wonder how much Randle will get.

I think Hood, Kanter, and Curry will all leave. I’m 50/50 on Aminu. He has value as a backup, but I also wouldn’t get in any sort of bidding war for him.
