My favorite part of the denial is they openly admit it had nothing to do with the public's concerns and only about some made up zoning rules. Fuck the people and what you want but what the government has arbitrarily decided must not be messed with!

There was supposed to be a Shake Shack going in across the street from Powell's Books on Burnside. Can't believe they would be able to have that additional traffic in that spot though.

They probably read the "What's Going on in Portland" thread, ignoring all the posts of some Laker fan and saw what a shithole downtown Portland is now!

Is The Helvetia Tavern still all that for burgers? Oh, and what happened to Calamity Jane's? (COVID?)

Did Helvetia a few years ago on the way to Seaside and it was still delicious! Pretty sure Calamity Janes closed down before COVID, such a shame, there was nothing like one of their burgers after a long day on Mt. Hood!

Beaverton Hillsdale Highway is already a clusterfuck. The absolute LAST thing that area needs is a traffic magnet like an In-N-Out. The county did their due diligence. They did what is best for the entire county (and indirectly) the whole PDX area. That is why zoning laws exist in the first place and why we have commissions to enforce them. Unfortunately, regardless of whatever the public wants, the public isn't always right....or can see the big picture. Personally, if In-N-Out ever tries to move into my community I would literally do everything humanly (and legally) possible to keep them away. Why anyone would push for another guaranteed traffic jam in a metropolitan area that is already one big parking lot is beyond my limited imagination.......

I don't care that it's an In N Out ... more that the arbitrary lines drawn up by governmental agencies mean more to them than the will of the people. Could have even tossed those citizens a bone and said they took their comments into account and it played a part but they went out of the way to say it had nothing to do with what the neighbors wanted.

In N Out is good it’s just people have pumped it up and now people want to say it’s no good. It is good. The lines suck. Five Guys is always good but last time i went the bun was cold or some shit and ruined it. Honestly as far as chains, it might sounds weird but I went to a Cheesecake Factory once near my hotel in Hawaii and that cheeseburger will blow your balls off.

Last 3 times we went to In N Out in Keizer it has been terrible. My kids hate it, I thought it was worse than McDonald's or Burger King, and my wife won't even consider going.

We didn't have to wait in any lines either. Just walked in and ordered.

My eldest went another time iwth friends a couple weeks ago and said it still sucks.

We had it in Grants Pass a few years ago and it was great. So we were excited to get one closer. No good.

I'm actually Red Robin right now.

Strange. Having lived in CA for so long, it was more common and never had a bad experience. Maybe Oregonians are fucking up the food. It’s fresher than McD and BK etc. Carls Jr is better.

I was visiting down in California awhile back and decided to try In and Out. I was hyped about it because I heard so many good things and that the food there was next level. I found myself underwhelmed. It was good but not anything special.

Yeah, in Grants Pass it was a completely different experience. Very fresh tasting.

Red Robin service is fucking trash now. The food tastes worse than it used to, too.

In n out is so overrated. Chick fil a too. They don't deserve the lines they often get.

Five guys cajun fries are amazing. The burgers are meh.

Shake shack burgers are amazing. The fries are meh.

Wendy's can be great. Just depends on the location. Some suck and some are fantastic.

Buffalo Wild Wings has decent burgers.

Killer Burger has good burgers.

I went to Red Robin like 15 years ago and shocked how bad it was. It was the spot to be in HS, but it was trash.

I won't wait for In-n-Out usually or Chic-Fil-A.

Have you been to this chicken tender spot "Raising Canes". Its good AF.

Never had it. Just saw they have one at Pioneer Place so i'll go get it sometime in the next month or two.

Buddy's Diner on Coburg Rd in Eugene
Second choice...the Hilo Cafe in Hilo Hawaii.
both have the best burgers and fries I've ever had. Both are 50's themed diners that are classic.

This is the problem though, people have hyped it up to be the best burger ever, it's just a phenomenal fast food burger.

Cane's is good, especially the sauce but it's kind of like In N Out in they have a limited menu. They basically do tenders and fries, that's it, but they try to perfect what they do.

I had a Wendy's Burger yesterday. It was freaking good. The "double".

What do Wendy's and In N Out have in common .... using fresh never frozen beef! It's why people down here in Texas swear by Whataburger, but it has that frozen beef McD's taste to me. It's not horrible but the taste is recognizable.

Who goes to B dubs for Burgers?!?

FAMS
You don't start out that way. You 90% of the time get traditional wings.

I'm just saying. I've had their burgers too and they are surprisingly good. Better than what Red Robin has trotted out the last couple of times i've been there. They have a cheese curd burger that is quite tasty.
