Your Personal 5 Favorite Trail Blazers of All Time

My first fave was Terry Porter. I am a little disappointed by the rumors that I've heard about him as a coach, but he was always my fave player of the Clyde era.
Arvydas Sabonis may be the greatest player to have worn only a Blazers jersey his entire NBA career. (Dame's career isn't over yet and Roy had that unfortunate Timberwolves coda.) He may also be the best passer in Blazers history - certainly better than anyone we've had since.
I did love Sheed, although loving both him and Sabas was hard after the towel incident. He has aged like fine wine, though.
Since then, there have been few players whose trade would have had me threatening to stop being a fan. I did love Batum, but he was maddeningly inconsistent, and that one 5 x 5 was a huge tease. The fact that he's still in the NBA and second only to Kawhi Leonard in total +/- for the Clips shows that he's cut from the same cloth as Boris Diaw.
I guess I would say Dame has given me more moments of joy than any Blazer of at least the past couple of decades, but I really wish he could've learned to play defense at some point. That's what separates the Jimmy Butlers from the Devin Bookers.

Cult heroes: Uncle Cliffy, Robert Pack, Alvin Williams, Viktor Khryapa, Petteri Koponen, Andre Miller, Josh Hart. I bet I could've fallen in love with Joe Ingles if given the chance. Fuck Pau Gasol, though - I don't care if he's a nice guy.
Cliff was awesome. Packman was truly fun to watch, but wish the Blazers had kept him. He went to Denver and became a big fan fav. Ol' Cement Boots Miller threw down a gorgeous dunk vs. the Nuggets , in a game i attended . I was like, wow! didn't know he had those kind of hops. Just chose not to use them. He was a very good player for the Blazers, and the other teams he played for. Josh Hart. The player i wanted the Blazers to acquire for years, and didn't disappoint. Man! i was sad when we traded him. But he's happy, and that's what's important. If only the Blazer could have had young Sabonis. He was very good, but a shell of his great young self. He was Giannis , before Giannis. Oh what might have been if he was on those early 90's teams. They might have won 4 titles in a row.

Couple of tidbits. Met Larry Steele at a Portland Beavers game in late 70's, got autograph. When the Blazers practiced at Green Meadows in Vancouver, met Billy Ray. I was a huge fan, and i tell my girlfriend, that's Billy Ray Bates. He looks at me and goes "she doesn't know who i am". He was a confident dude. Oh so fun to watch. Walked to work, saw Darnell Valentine. Went over to say hi. He was so cool and walked the rest of the way with me to the Plaid Pantry i worked at. Did security at a building where Kenny Carr had business. He was super nice. Jerome Kersey got his car tricked up at one of my customers i delivered too. He was super cool and cordial. That's who he was . Taken way too soon. Worked at Petco for a while. Sold a couple of dog houses to Kevin Duckworth. Big Duck had some big Rotties. Also left way too soon. Moved to Denver and saw Calvin Natt at the grocery store. He was an intense dude. Big Raider Fan. Maybe working with stiffs at his mortuary made him kinda coarse. Terry Porter is a teddy bear. Just a 1st class guy. Side note: Brooke is as sweet as she seems. What a wonderful person full of light. Took pictures with my daughter and me. I was so nervous. That happens sometimes when you have a crush on someone.

Yeah Brooke is the real deal. I was nervous around her but not because I had a crush on her, just because she was right there and I wasnt expecting her so I was tongue tied. But she couldn't have been sweeter. Great representative of the team and city.

Walton, Duckworth, Steele, Porter, Petro

Good question, in seriousness there's guys like Clyde who I almost feel compelled to list then guys like Wes who obviously have much less talent and accomplishments but I just loved the way they approached the game. Pippen was awesome for us, and I especially liked towards the end when we moved him to PG. But I despised Stoudamire. Seems odd to list Pippen since I view him more as a member of the Bulls.

Brian Grant I loved but he obviously wasn't as talented as other PF we had nor stayed with the team a long time and left for Miami, but he did return after his playing days. Sabas Id probably enjoy much more today, just found him slow to root for. Kenny Anderson was fun to watch, as well as Walt Williams, Alvin Williams, and James Jones. Rudy Fernandez was amazing as a rookie then disappointing. Sergio was fun. Marcus Camby and Gerald Wallace brought great energy and hustle. Then of course who can forget Ha Sung Jin.

Rasheed
Roy
Dame
Matthews
Pippen

I always had a weird affinity for Rod Strickland. How he looked stoned, but would drive down the lane with wreck-less abandon. I remember one time he got clotheslined by Wayman Tisdale and I thought he died.

My top 5 is unique:

Brian Grant
Sabonis
Lillard
Strickland
Uncle Cliffy

Strickland was an idiot. In middle school he was a guest for our entire school assembly about staying in school. He said school didn't work for him but it's probably a good idea for others. Even as kids who were Blazer maniacs we all thought he was an idiot for saying that. Now as an adult it boogles my mind he could talk like that to hundreds of kids.

School is not for everybody. I mean after high school. And Strickland spent more time in school than I ever did.

I just loved the way he played.

Now, if we're talking favorite all-time Blazer dunkers, agreed -

1. Shaedon Sharpe
2. Billy Ray Bates
3. Robert Pack
4. James 'Hollywood' Robinson
5. Jerome Kersey

Great list, but ,to me, Clyde is the greatest IN Game dunker. Sharpe would be second on my list, but may end up at one. Clyde was a way better ,IN GAME, dunker than MJ. Clyde would do windmills, under and overs, and glides that nobody else could do. His dunk from the elbow at the forum vs. the Lakers was Amazing. Arm completely vertical ,extended, legs folded in, gliding in for the flush. Clyde was "meh" in the dunk contest though, and that's what most people remember.
