Your Personal 5 Most Disliked Trail Blazers of All Time

Obviously Ruben Patterson, that goes without saying. But that's because we know he's scum of the earth. On the court, if I knew nothing of his character, I might've liked him as a player. So I'm going to pick players by how I disliked them as basketball players (because, for all I know, there's a player who's a secret serial killer in his private life).

So: Telfair, Kenny Anderson, Damon Stoudamire, Shawn Kemp (because trading for him was what broke the Whitsitt era) and, I guess, Detlef Schrempf, because I loved him as a player when he wasn't on the Blazers and he just sulked the whole time because we traded for Pippen immediately after acquiring him.

Hated him on the Bulls. He said and did the right things for a while after he got to Portland. He was supposed to be the leader of that team, so I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. He failed miserably. They got as far as they did in spite of his leadership, not because of it. If he reins in the knuckleheads and gives them a little focus, that team could have won multiple titles. Instead, he folded like a lawn chair.

Plus, he was notoriously cheap.
I kinda see what you're saying, but Steve Kerr said that all the Bulls loved Scottie and that he always went around and gave them pep (Pip) talks after Jordan had sneered at them. Plus, you can kind of understand his cheapness if you know how he grew up - one of a huge family in fucking rural Arkansas whose dad was disabled.

I can't love Pip as a Blazer because we got the tail end of a great career. He's a Bull, so he can't be ours. That, in a nutshell, is what I didn't like about the Whitsitt strategy.

Why the hate for Ruben? That dude hustled his ass off out there. Gave it his all. Bonzi was great for us in my opinion, and Damon is one of our best PGs in team history.
Spoken like a true Westbrook fan.

No, the player we traded for Damon was much better.

(True story: I met a guy who was highschool teammates with Stoudamire. Said everyone on the team hated his guts because he was an arrogant selfish asshole and rejoiced when he relocated to a much fancier high school.)

Sasha Djordjevic (probably not spelling correctly)
You're spelling it right, but you're going to have to explain that one. Guy barely played! That's like a Rockets fan really hating Spanoulis.

JR Rider
Bonzi Wells
Shawn Kemp
Raymond Felton
Damon Stoudamire
How dare you! One of my favorite all time Tar Heel. Welcome to my ignore list:biglaugh:

j/k j/k

This is a very good topic. After some thinking will go:

Sebastian Telfair-Should have went to college. Or better yet, stocked groceries at Wal-Mart. Horrible player.
Qyntel Woods-Terrible human being.
Meyers Leonard-Looks like the guy my girlfriend in college cheated on me with, so piss on him even now.
Bonzi Wells-No explanation needed.
Kelvin Cato

He was a Serbian nationalist during the civil war. You can ask Nurk what that meant for Bosnians and Croatians. Not saying he personally engaged in atrocities but gave support to those who did.

Not every white nationalist participates in lynching but all carry responsibility.

Raymond Felton
Shawn Kemp
Gary Payton II
Rueben Patterson
Luke Babbitt
personal reason for all 5 ....basketball skills are a secondary consideration

My hate for him started in HS too. My HS (Sunset) beat his then undefeated Wilson squad and he was such a punk during and post game. Just an entitled prick. Then came his college announcement for Arizona. When asked why he chose UA spurning the local state schools, he said... "why would I choose a Yugo when I can drive a Cadillac?"

As a Trailblazer he was the same entitled prick who thought he was soooo much better then reality. Him whining his personal grievances to Quick at every turn was pathetic but in line with his loser character.

I always hated Danny Ainge for taking playing time away from Drazen Petrovic and causing Drazen to ask for a trade. Maybe I should hate Rick Adelman.

Would you do me a favor and explain why you dislike these guys? Looks, style of play, attitude?

Raymond Felton - he sucked
Bonzi Wells - surly jerk
Jamal Crawford - brought none of his 6th man magic to the Blazers, didn't to want to be here
Detlef Shrempf - disliked him from his Sonic days, plus his "too cool for school" demeanor

Someone mentioned Trevor Ariza, he's my number five for giving up on the team in the bubble.

I have less dislike for those who were with the team when they weren't going anywhere.

Felton
GPII
Bonzi
Meyers

Can't decide on the final spot.

Rod Strickland, for totaling a perfectly good Mercedes-Benz on the Terwilliger curves.

Cliff Robinson, for getting arrested paintballing people in downtown Portland, giving recreational paint ballers a bad rap.

Damon Stoudamire, for getting caught with really good chronic and handing over a mountain of free herb to the LO police.

Trendon Watford, for playing harder then the starters and making Jerami Grant's new contract look like a terrible idea.

#1 most disliked Blazer ... Zach Randolph, for punching teammates and assaulting strippers, while everyone in Blazer media could not stop talking about his double doubles regardless that the Blazers totally stunk.

I really only ever disliked Raymond Felton. I'm still not sure that GP2weeks was trying to fuck us over... I put that all on the Warriors management. There are some other players whose game I didn't love or whose off the court shit was pretty hard to stomach but overall I was cool with what they tried to bring to the floor and that's what mattered and still matters to me. I've probably spent more time complaining about CJ than anyone else but I fucking love CJ and loved him as a Blazer but I hated him next to Dame.

So Raymond Felton is the only guy that I can come up with since I've been a fan in the mid 80s that I really feel like acted in bad faith the entire time he was here. The dude came in out of shape and didn't seem to give a fuck about our team's success. I just can't say that about anyone else, there were ups and downs but I think everyone else gave what they could.

Other guys that annoyed me were Meyers, the inconsistency of Rider, something about Bayless, the way shit went down with Darius after his contract extension and the fact that one of the most hyped players in the history of the organization never paid off and I'm not talking about Qyntel Woods, I'm talking about the legendary RLEC not LaFrentz himself just the contract.

Sheed was the worst Blazer ever.

Talented? Sure. But an asshole to fans, and teammates, and the press. A choker too. And a wuss who was content to stand outside and shoot jumpers instead of taking a bit of contact.

What a putz.

I wrote an article about Sheed where I recall saying sometimes he had me cheering wildly and other times I wanted to wring his neck.

Please explain

Felton (for all the reasons stated before)
Rueben Patterson (guy is just a horrible human being)
Roy (because Huck the Fuskies)
Jarrett Jack (No real reason other than didn't like his game and always had that weird scowl on his face)
Evan Turner (He will always be linked with Olshey in my mind and the absolute waste of Dames prime)

Raymond Felton. I didn’t like what we gave up to acquire him. He didn’t like being here. Got into it with fans. Was out of shape. What else?

GPII kinda shit on us on his way out so he’s on my list.

aside from that, it’s hard for me to think of players I didn’t like or root for for basketball reasons. I always found Aminu frustrating when he’d put the ball on the floor. I haven’t liked having shorter teams with CJ or Simons at the two or Powell or Hart at the three with other short players behind them. Those weren’t their fault, though.

I was frustrated that we didn’t get more out of Covington, Nance Jr. or, especially, Greg Oden. Never disliked them bet they left me wanting more.
