Green would be awesome, but Phoenix is trying to make the playoffs. Denver is horrible, and they will continue to BE horrible, so why not send them a couple young guys and a pick?

Jeff Green?

GS shouldn't make a move either, let's see if both teams are managed well.

Yeah, but they're also overloaded at the 2/3. Jeff Hornacek made this comment about them being overstocked over a month ago:

Jeff Hornacek said:
[Dragic/Thomas/Bledsoe] are all used to having the ball in their hands quite a bit, and they're still trying to figure it out. And so are we [the coaching staff]. It's not just those three guys — we have Gerald Green at the guard position also. And everyone goes, ‘Ehh, we can just slide him over to the 3 spot,' but then we have P.J. Tucker and Marcus Morris.

Seems to me that they could benefit by dealing Green for a big or two...

What is with the Wilson Chandler obsession? Trade a 1st round pick? Seriously?

He's pretty decent? Look at his line last night. How good is out pick going to be?

If we're giving up our pick for one of Denver's guys... I want Afflalo! If Chandler can be had "on the cheap," I wouldn't be opposed to trading for him.

Man, if there was some way to get Afflalo AND Chandler on our bench, you'd have to think we'd be the favorite...

Picks are more valuable than Wilson chandler types IMO, but whatevs

Especially if these "types" just leave at the end of the season (not saying Chandler specifically). Now if you could find one that is sticking round for 2 more years after this one plus on a nice contract (for the team) then you jump at it but in those cases they likely cost more.

You mean 20 points on 20 shots? Or his 21 points on 21 shots on Friday? Or maybe his 11 points on 17 shots on Tuesday. In fact, over the past 3 weeks, he's averaged 35mpg, and scored 159 points on 166 attempts, shooting 38%. Rebounds are the only other thing he offers, and that's not really an area where we're lacking.

No--not impressed.

If I were neil I'd wait till around the deadline. Would suck to trade a 1st for Wilson freaking chandler and then find yourself with other needs a month and a half from now.

If around the deadline someone pops up in exchange for flotsam, pull trigger

Those are josh smith numbers! Didn't you hear the rockets are going to win the title?

I agree. If you add that one guy like a Wilson Chandler, I think we're set.

Wilson is the one guy I really want. Not for his offense, but rather his defense. We need another wing defender, and he is an elite one. He is also really frustrated in Denver. The question is do we have something Denver wants?

As it gets closer to the deadline there will be teams giving away players, wait it out.

If his defense is amazing, I think that's worth looking at, but not for a #1

If we end up finishing in the top three, that pick won't be much.

Still valuable in trade right up until draft day, I just think hold on to pick until the deadline at least

Well I put him third on my list of dudes. I would rather have Gerald green.

IMO its foolhardy to pinpoint a need this early, the blazers needs could change drastically in the next month and a half. Wilson chandler (or another of his ilk) might get bought out, CJ might step up, someone might get injured (knock on wood), hell, the Sixer's traded hawes and Evan turner for some 2nds at the deadline last year

Agree 100%

I don't see Olshey bringing on a contract that goes into next year (unless of course we send out a contract the same or larger that goes into next year or beyond). Cap plan is in full effect right now.

Another line of thinking would be to trade for a guy with more years and just resign everyone

I dont think there will be a hint, just a sudden strike like a cobra on Richard Sherman's adderal

Certainly an option just not one I see any hint that Olshey wants.

I would suspect that if the player we're trading for fits the team then the cap plan could go out the window. The point of any move is to get better - if we can do that now, then why not? Isn't a guaranteed move better than potentially coming up empty this summer?

LOL! Yeah, that sounds right to me as well; Neil doesn't seem to operate in the Woj model of pre-announcing deals.
