Nice Little diddy:
I’ll take just a half dozen consecutive games!Man I want to see a healthy season of Little.
Talk about setting the bar low; and like high jumping…not like doing the limbo.I’ll take just a half dozen consecutive games!
I’m 100% with you on Nas’ potential. I’m kind of the camp that wants to lock him up this summer even if it’s slightly overpaying. I think the injuries aren’t a long term problem, and if anything, will help us retain him for cheaper than it’ll be next summer. This is great. I understand the reluctance of some posters not to count on Nas because of his injuries, but I get puzzled when others question his talent. His potential is very high.
A young core of Ant, SS, Nas, Watford/Walker is bright. Now they just need to get a young center at some point.
And no I am not suggesting trading Dame for one.
So Dan Marang is the new Mike Barrett?Dan Marang was guest on recent Locked on Blazers podcast, says Nas gained 20 lbs of muscle

He’s pretty well built. I don’t think he needs 20lbs of muscle.
He just needs to stay healthy and consistently work on his handle a jumpshot.
I think he has star potential. I actually like his potential more than Simon’s
His body is maturing, and muscle weighs more. A 240 lb. ,6-6 in shoes ,freight train who has some serious BBall skills. Sounds Sweet! to me.I assumed the poster was joking. 20lbs of muscle would put him in the 240 range.

Yes, he did say that. On the 7/31 podcast, about 12 minutes in. Said that it's a combination of fully recovering from the 30 lbs he lost from covid, growing into his natural physique, and significantly improving his training/nutrition. Also said he's convinced that Nas will and should start at SF, and that he unquestionably has the size/strength for it now.Sure, but I still want to know if anyone else heard the quote by Marang or if Inconceivable was just trying to be funny with the
Mike Barrett type quote. It seems like every summer someone makes a joke about a player gaining a huge amount of muscle.
When was the last time he had a good season? 2017-18 as a high school senior? Any time we're about a half a decade away from good basketball, it's hard to be too excited about a guy.
He's young enough to turn it around, but at some point a guy is just who he is.
His production. His ability to add value to the team. He hasn't made a consistent impact on a basketball team since 2017.Turn what around? His skill or his injuries? Last year he did turn it around. Inonsistent at first but in January when he averaged over 30 minutes a game......he looked good.

Separately, also said that Dame's looking like he's in the best physical shape of his career.
Could be. I imagine he's similar in size/strength to Justise Winslow.Sounds good, but a little confusing on how much he weighs now. Probably between 220 and 230?

You don't think he needs to turn anything around? Really? You think he should just keep playing at the level he has since finishing high school, not getting more than 9.8 ppg nor more than 1100 minutes in a season?
This isn't one year. Not two. Not three. It's four years in a row. That's, what, 18% of his whole life?
Like I said: he has time to turn it around, but what he's been the last four years is out-of-rotation level production in the NBA.
Well, we can pick any player and say, "He had a good 100 minutes" or "He had a good quarter". He definitely had his moments last year, but that doesn't detract from the point I was trying to make (I totally recognize I might not have been clear, sorry!)I think most will agree with you about the injuries, but you said "we're about a half a decade away from good basketball" from him?
Most who watched him in January, when he averaged over 30 minutes a game, would disagree with that. His production was very good, which is why many are excited about him this next year. But sure he needs to stay healthy, as do a long number of players in the NBA last year who got hurt.
If he averaged nearly 10 point a game for the rest of his career with good defense, rebounding, and hustle you’re telling me he wasn’t a particularly effective player? Lol I am laughing out loud. The dude was drafted at 25, if he stay healthy we got a freaking steal with him. Btw PJ Tucker never averaged more than 9.4 point a game, look where he is nowWell, we can pick any player and say, "He had a good 100 minutes" or "He had a good quarter". I don't think Nasir Little had a good year last year... if he was healthy all year and got 9.8 ppg along with the rest of his stats, he'd be fine for a third-year player. If he did that for the rest of his career I think that we'd all be in agreement he wasn't a particularly effective NBA player.
Nas had a pretty good season all things considered. I think you are putting too much stock into scoring. If he averaged around 8rpg per 36 the rest of his career, is he particularly effective? What about the way he played on ball defense—if he didn’t progress at all in that department, is he still an effective NBA player?Well, we can pick any player and say, "He had a good 100 minutes" or "He had a good quarter". I would be perfectly happy with 10lbs. One thing I loved about watching him last year was that every game I was able to watch that he played, he was finishing through contact easyyy.Dan Marang was guest on recent Locked on Blazers podcast, says Nas gained 20 lbs of muscle
