First, and foremost, I'm interested in youtube without ads. My wife and I both watch a lot of youtube!
I'm interested in Blazer games.
I don't need a lot of TV stations.
I don't really care about DVR storage (but maybe I would if I had it?)
$65 is steep, but I'm willing to pay for it, if it's the right thing.
I do not have cable.
My TV is new, it has apps built into it (including youtubeTV)
We will be getting superfast internet in April.

Should I just order NBATV instead? (cost?)
Should I just order youtube premium? (cost?)
Should I just order both of these and not youtube TV?
Is there something better for me?
I've heard a lot of posters sing the praises of youtubeTV, which is why I'm interested in it?

You tube has the highlights of our games and others in all sports. I like it because there is no foul shooting. Only dramatic action and intrigue await me. Just watch the tube without spending any money. The commercials are short and you can skip ads. Try that for awhile and see if you can bear it. Good Luck.

I think Blazer games are often blacked out on NBATV.

I had youtube TV for a month... It was good, but I don't think I'd pay over $25 per month for it. But if I was going to spend the money on a service like that I think I'd pick youtube TV... It was good.

I have youtube TV and have really liked it for watching Blazers games. The ease of pulling it up anywhere I am if I travel has been pretty cool.
However, I hadn't heard if there was any confirmation on that blazers to rootsports thing from earlier, and if so, currently, rootsports is not on youtube tv, fyi.

I have had YouTube TV since January after having cable my entire life, dating back to the Paragon days. It's pretty good overall; haven't had any streaming or quality issues. Add on a few free apps like Pluto TV and Tubi and that's a good start.

I like youtube TV also. I share my account with family members who don't live in Oregon so they can watch all the blazer games. You get 6 family accounts and if they don't live in Oregon then they will need to figure out how to spoof the GPS every few months (it's easy). For the same house it's nice that my wife has her own account so she doesn't pollute the dvr with all her real house wives crap that I hate.

The unlimited online dvr is fantastic also and fast forward function is smooth and easy to use. One thing is that youtube tv sometimes tries to default you to the on demand version of a program rather than the recording, which will force you to watch commercials. That's kind of annoying when it happens cause you can't fast forward through the on demand commercials.

Just wanted to note that you get 6 accounts, but only 3 can stream simultaneously.

I believe each account can stream 3 devices at once. My account is the main family account and its often on in the living room, office and bedroom at the same time along with other family members using it in other places on their own accounts. Could be wrong here as I dont pay attention to all the details but I know for sure its never really been an issue with us and we are heavy users.

You won't get Blazer games on NBATV by itself. You'll be blacked out with League Pass as well.

Should I just order youtube premium? (cost?)
Youtube Premium is just Youtube with no ads.

Should I just order both of these and not youtube TV?
Totally separate issues.

Is there something better for me?
Not sure.

I like it because it works for me. I'm sharing an account based in the NW, so I get Blazer Games in LA. They've increased their price and frankly, its pretty overpriced, but all streaming cable sites are. I'd wait to see what the situation with where the Blazers will be on next year plays out. You may be able to do a short term commitment with Youtube TV?

I believe you're wrong on that. The main account gets to share it with 5 family accounts, but only 3 accounts can stream at once. I haven't checked to confirm this, but I'm fairly certain that's how it works.

Could be, Ill test it out when I get bored sometime

I never watch games live anymore. At least run a 30 minutes delay so I don't have to watch commercials, 30 minutes late gets you to real time sometime during the 4th quarter.

I can't watch any sporting event live anymore, always give it about 30 minutes. Comcast had a 30 second skip ahead button and that was PERFECT for watching an NFL game. Just hit that button right after the whistle blew and it would be right as they were snapping for the next play. I could watch a game in under an hour with that thing.

Exactly, accept I usually run a one hour delay which allows me to run through the entire game without any God Damned commercials. An awful lot of those commercials make me want to throw a brick through my TV. I especially hate that little green lizard with the English accent. I admit, there are some commercials that I like because they are funny. I use to enjoy the Olympia beer commercials and some of the Blitz Weinhard commercials, but they are now nearly all gone and the remaining ones are too few and far between.
I've got three DVRs in my house because I hate commercials so much. I especially hate the way they try to control my thinking with all their contrivance. That damned Gecko is as contrived as they get. I see car commercials that aim their appeal to the younger set with all sorts of contrivance including the narrator's voice. All I want about a personal message is the facts, why is it the best? What are some examples of leading engineering in a car? Volvo used to have quality commercials, now they are slipping.

I've often wondered why remotes didn't have features like that but then I realized that all the big networks would use some kind of intense pressure to disallow that.

There are some commercials that make me laugh like the new wing stop one. "dude why didnt you ask me if I wanted wings?", "I did, you said I am owning this game, get out of my face." "oh can you ask me again?" As someone who lives with a young gamer, this commercial cracks me up.

A bad commercial will make me actively boycott a company though. I am just about there with the Fred Meyer commercials right now. Go ahead Fred Meyer, keep playing that stupid low low low low low song and test me some more.

All in all I love a world where I dont have to watch many commercials. The companies are getting tricky to make you see them though. Hulu premium is worth the extra money just to watch recent on demand programs with no commercials. As far as blazer games go, I dont mind catching up to real time part way though the 4th quarter, if its a good game then the stops add to the suspense.

Aflac....Aflac...Aflac

chiming in to say we went to YTTV when Directv wanted to hike our bill like $100. Have enjoyed it immensely. Wasnt a fan of the price hike a couple months after though. Was so stoked after like 10 years with no option for Blazer games out in Hood River to have NBCSN on it. Now to have it a season and be kicked in the nads with them going to Root again (which DirectTV had lol) hopefully it will be an option to even purchase on YTTV with Root having more eyes with Blazers, Mariners, and Timbers.

Even worse, Olympia stopped brewing beer this year. I distribute it (or used to, anyway), and while I have probably four accounts that even had it in their set, there are some loyal customers out there. I even bought a case just for one more go at it.

Oh God, don't get me started on the new Fred Meyer commercial, although that may be the work of Kroger.

I detest commercials but the Tag Team Ice Cream commercial gets me every time

my kids love that one!

I change the radio station every time I hear an ad for Leif’s. That dude seems to have the market cornered on radio ads.

The Car Shield commercials kill me. "They put a transmission in it....and a motor. Who does that?"

Over and over and over again.:hairout:

My family now chimes in every time it comes on :pokecrap:

My name is Jake, so the Jake from State Farm commercials annoy me more than anything. Mainly because it makes people think its funny to ask me if I'm wearing khaki's after I tell them my name. :curse:

That's a conniving commercial if ever I heard one.
