Zach Collins is starting to resemble meyers leonard, but with better defense. personally, i dont like when centers shoot 3's. they should clog the paint.

I like bigs like Collins who can do both. It's easier for guards to penetrate when the other team's best shotblocker is near the 3 point line.

Another advantage to being able to do both: If LAC uses Jordan to guard him, he goes to the 3 point line and the guards get 50. If they use Griffin to guard him, (a future much stronger version of Zach) takes him down low, or plays in the high post forcing Griffin to make decisions.

Thats the Way the League go. Bigs Today need to Shoot 3s.

The fact that you can't differentiate between the skillsets needed at the 2 positions says a lot. :dunno:
i love the fact that you assume shit. dont be "that guy".

Jordan has never done that. he always clogs the paint. when has anyone from our team scored 50 on the clippers of the past 4-5 years? griffin would be the one to switch and then collins would never get the ball. (just an example)

my point is, centers should never be outside of 15ft. ever. especially when you have a HUGE wingspan like collins or a super athletic body like meyers. you never see davis outside of 15 ft and he has the best +/- of all our bigs. and it isnt even close.

Assume shit? You just said potato/potahto when it came to the difference between Centers and PFs. This isn't the 80s. :dunno:

Sure, compare someone who can shoot from outside with someone who can't... Davis wouldn't even shoot his freethrows from that deep if he had a choice.

That's right. Sabonis should've never stepped out that far. :dunno:

he was 136-415 (32.8%) for his NBA career. he probably shouldn't have. he was a paint monster. his highlights aren't 3 point shots, that's for sure.

and he is effective in the paint. just like how our other centers would be if they didn't step outside of the 3pt line or set picks at 35ft. that's my point. when you have a center, or PF, stand out at the line and shoot 3's, who gets the offensive rebound? right now, we are in the middle of the pack with OREB, but we would be higher if our bigs didn't stand at the 3 point line.

you do have a point with the free throws, though, lol.

my personal opinion, they shouldn't do that. it's just my opinion.

So shooting 33% from 3 at the C position is a detriment to you? You're trippin.

Just the threat of a center shooting threes is valuable because it draws the opposing center out of the paint, making it easier to attack the basket. It happened a lot last night for example. Nurkic had to respect Towns' outside shot and it left the rim open.

It's why Leonard is valuable, even when he's not making/shooting threes. He still has to be respected because he's shown he can hit that shot.

Past six games we are outscoring the opposition by 5.7 points per 100 possessions with Collins on the floor (getting outscored by 8 with him off of it)

Don't think that's a fluke, and should only improve as he gets more experience.

"GuardS" - Lillard and McCollum have combined for 50+ many, many times.

What the hell is with that creepy music? Made me feel like I was watching the faces of death or footage of a Russian soldier shooting a Chechyan soldier.

*shudder* I've seen too many videos online...

I thought the college line was the next one up, even with the top of the free throw circle.

In most high school associations in the United States, the distance is 19.75 feet. This was formerly the distance for college basketball as well. On May 26, 2007, the NCAA playing rules committee agreed to move the three-point line back one foot to 20.75 feet for the men.

Nba is 23.7 from the arch and 22.3?? from the corner. If I remember off the top of my head.

Yes, I now see the small distance between both of those lines in the video. Still impressive for a center.
