Zach Collins is ready

I wouldnt say limitless but I would say he has the potential to have 0 weaknesses. Can shoot 3s, post up, and face up. Can protect the rim as a 7 footer but can also slide his feet. Has shown flashes of being a very good passer and rebounder. Has great fundamentals and footwork. Seems to have a good mentality and confidence about him. What about him is likely to remain a weakness?
Doesn't every single player after 103 minutes have the potential for 0 weaknesses?

Fairly equal rookie seasons. 1 might be a big with 0 weaknesses, the other is Meyers Leonard. I'm just saying, maybe people are a bit premature to anoint Collins the next great bit. He looks good. Usually in the right place, but it's early

I'm just going to say it, but Zach has a bit of Anthony Davis in his game. Like Davis when he was young and team oriented and hadn't yet realized that he could score at will. That is high praise, but I'll tone it down by saying that Zach has the potential of a poor man's Anthony Davis, which is still something to care about.

No lol

Davis was even skinnier than Zach when he came into the league. From a physical stand point that’s a great reference for Zach.

Collins is closer to KAT than Davis in terms of physical attributes. I think you guys are letting defensive capabilities cloud your comparison vision a bit. Zach is closer to Davis in that respect, and while very mobile, I don't see much similarity in the athleticism.

Zach is a young defensive talent with potential for becoming a much better player with his footwork, ability around the hoop and his work ethic.

He will grow physically into his body over the next 3 to 4 years. He'll be fine.

If Zack reaches his potential, there are going to be quite a few teams that drafted above Portland that are going to regret passing on him. Could start with Philadelphia or LA.

shuffleboard really does need a new champion

Same can be said about LITERALLY both those teams players. Ball is averaging 10/7/7. What are they regretting? He shoots poorly? Guess what, he has virtually the same 2pt% as Collins, who you say has the potential to be great. Wouldn't the same be true of Lonzo?

Using stats from small sample sizes to compare two completely different players is silly.

Use your eyes and your brain. Actually, don't use your eyes, you'll see white.

But using 103 minutes to say someone is limitless isnt?

Screw the 103 minutes. LeBron had limitless potential (which he realized) while he was still in high school.... which is why he was
drafted #1 in a stacked draft.

From a skills POV, Collins will be a 2-way player, which is what we are sorely lacking. Right now, in the role he's playing, he is a below average NBA player.

No one is saying he won't be a two way player

The inside game is there. The defense is as well. The shooting is not.

I don't see how any player can get any kind of rhythm with the way this team is put together. I suspect that's why ET is struggling also.

Zach shows flashes of doing some nice things but like all our young players over the years... can't maintain a consistent level of good play. He's probably two years away from being two years away.

From being great or serviceable?
