Zach Collins' Present and Future Thoughts

I don't see Zach ever having an efficient back-to-the-basket game. My ideal for him would be Horace Grant. Another guy who had a great career rebounding, playing defense and hitting open jump shots.

Whoa there. Horace Grant was an All Star. I'd be happy of Zach doesn't just settle for being BJ Mullins.

Porzingis is 7'3" and he's a PF. Dirk is 7'. Pau has played both center and PF and he's 7'. Hell, Durant is 7' and he's a SF (I can't believe he's still listed as 6'9"). In today's game, 7' power forwards aren't all that rare. What position a 7-footer plays these days is dictated more by their skill set, body type and who their teammates are. I think Collins will eventually be able to play either position, but unless/until he bulks up, he's definitely a PF, for now.

BNM

He sure looks like a PF that's not quick enough to be a PF. He will get bigger, but not quicker/faster (unless he's magic).

You (and I, for that matter) wish.

He could be a modern day Noah Vonleh.

Those guys had wide bodies. You should compare Collins to fellow popsicle sticks like the picture of Manute Bol above. When you analyze Collins, the #1 feature to consider is skinniness.

I don't even see the flashes to get me hopeful that he will be something more than an average rotation player in his career.

Disappointment so far. We're getting nothing from the three draft picks we had in that draft last year.

We're cool. We want a modern forward. We don't want an old-fashioned brick wall enforcer. We want a mobile fluid stick who runs around a lot, never goes inside, and shoots from 40. A cross between LaMarcus Adridge and Victor Claver. We don't want any of that Maurice Lucas/Ed Davis shit. Cuz we so cool.
