Just what this forum needs, another McCollum bashing session.
Was shocking to me the number of times he dribbled the air out of the ball while Hood/Curry/Layman were sitting there with their hands out wide open.I would detest Donovan Mitchell; and I refuse to imagine Klay as a Blazer.
But CJ averages less assists than our center; he just isn't naturally a team player. Dude just needs to shift his mindset a smidge and I'm guessing we'd take that next step. That's all people are saying: things could be better. It's okay, Cup! Go Blazers!
huh?? That makes zero sense.
You're questioning me as a fan because of my post history. What does that have to do with CJ McCollum getting zero assists in 45 minutes of play last night?
He's saying what kind of person goes back through someone's post history?
I'm not questioning that at all. The only thing I questioned in this thread is I find it strange how some of you are unable to find happiness in watching this team.

And some of us find it strange that there are fans who are happy getting ousted in the first round every year
You're acting like we haven't seen this exact same story play it for the past..... what...... four years?

McCollum is a shooting guard. His job is to shoot and score. There were also several missed shots that McCollum passed to a player last night as it takes two to get an assist as there is no other way to get one.
By the way, read through all the bashing McCollum posts. If you think "all they are saying" is he has to adjust a smidge then I question your reading comprehension as it's there in black and white for you to read.
Name the posters that are happy after a first round loss and why do you keep making shit up to fit your narrative?![]()
You seem to be.
Just what this forum needs, another McCollum bashing session. I guess you guys wouldn't like Donovan Mitchell on this team then or Klay Thompson who has several zero assist games just this year.
Actually let me reframe. Everyone knows CJ is going to iso, and by everyone I mean EVERYONE. So when CJ isos, then no one does anything but watch and get ready for the rebound or double or whatever--he isn't a threat to pass. Meanwhile, when Dame isos, which he does quite a bit, defenses are forced to play honest D because he is a willing passer.
You really think CJ compares defensively to Mitchell or Thompson? I could live with few assists if the shot selection was better and he played defense.

You're right. But not for the reasons you said.
and like many times before, you would be wrong. I hate to lose. I just don't go on a whine fest in this forum. It accomplishes nothing.
Or most likely that after last night Stotts probably thinks that we would've won if Turner was playing, thus cementing his spot in the rotation.I 100% agree. I don't see Stotts or CJ going anywhere as long as Olshey is around...
The only hope I see is this: there seems to be a slight possibility that Stotts is finally admitting that ET sucks ass and is a liability. That change/realization has been a LOOOONG time coming. Maybe the other options have just gotten better, or maybe Stotts is refusing to play someone who doesn't help us. If it's the latter, then there is hope that he sees how much the shitty things can hurt us... Because we are at our best when the ball zips around, when we concentrate (and Dame is at the helm), and not when we iso and stand around.
Neither does burying your head in the sand. I understand it is easier not to think critically, but why bother engaging if you're just going to maintain the party line? By being immovable, and honestly, really repetitive, your posts are not moving the discussion forward just damming it up for an argument about you, which can't be (or is it?) what you want.
Give people a chance. If you want to start with me, I'm low risk...
And let me preemptively say that what we say in here does matter. I've heard it trickle out, heard it on the morning shows, heard it in the tweets they read and the actually discussions with players and coaches. It's a weird era in which what we say--if it resonates (I hate that word)--can expand and have an impact.
You seriously think this forum has any weight? and you base that because some local radio jocks pick up on certain things said and say it on their show? and then you think Olshey and Stotts take that into account? Hmm? I'll have to respectively disagree and if they did I would be disappointed in them. Radio jocks have a lot of airtime to fill so it's only natural for them to look to social media for show fodder. I also question exactly what "critical thinking" lead to many of these posts. Same story day in and day out. Win a game and this forum acts like we are in the finals. Lose a game and this forum acts like the season is over. It's pretty funny at times. I use to refer to this as the pendulum effect. It swings up to a top peak and then descends down to its lowest point only to swing back up again and then over and over again. I see it on a daily basis of many posters continually doubting this team. I wonder if they have kids and continually doubt them as well. Good way to destroy a kids confidence.
As for me being rigid? No more so than anyone else in this forum and you say I am repetitive? That's pretty funny as many of these same posts (maybe slight alterations) have been strewn throughout this forum. What company line are you talking about? The company line in this forum is bash Olshey, bash Stotts, bash CJ, bash Turner and then when that doesn't work then look for another player to bash. If you don;t agree with the bashing and defend those that aren't here to defend them self then you are an outsider and trying to make it about them self. I simply state my opinions. Not asking anyone to agree with them.
Stuff 100% reaches them. You could clearly argue that they give no shits, so yes, the amount of impact is debatable. But I've heard Stotts defend his decisions and his lineups and be confronted with the things we talk about it here that arose from listener feedback, ie us. I've heard Olshey quote "the fans" angrily. Dame interacts with fans all the time. The crossover is real. It's a crazy age.
The company line is an actually phrase with a definition. The company line in this case is Olshey and up, ie the company. What we have in here is real people that oftentimes rebel against that rhetoric. You're a company man hook, line, and sinker. I'm in between.
As to your opinion. It doesn't vary, bro, and that's rigid. Try talking it out every once in a while. Ain't no shame in being open to other ideas.

Now you are changing the narrative. I never said or alluded to that did I? Do you think Mitchell or Thompson are available? If not, then it's really irrelevant isn't it?
Correct, but you can't have this discussion in a vacuum. If CJ was a stellar defender with a good understanding of when he wasn't hot, nobody would car about his lack of assists.
and who are you referring to bailey? Is this another post about a poster and not a post?
Myself cup. I would never be speaking of you, because you are always right around here. Why would I ever want to question any of your posts validity? You are the MAN!
Back to your regularly scheduled Blazers forum soap opera.....
No reason to post an asshole response bailey. So you post something then basically deny who you were talking about. For the record, I am not always right and have often been wrong just like you or anyone else in this forum. Does that clear it up for you? Do you often post in the 3rd person as well?

seriously? It was obvious who you were posting about and thus the response. make your posts about the post and not the poster. It's funny how you claim I won't let anyone have an opinion. How can I even control that? The issue I see is that some don't like others opinions that don't align with theirs. We should all be allowed to post our opinions and I have no problem with other opinions, but may respond whether I agree with it or not and would appreciate the same courtesy you think others should have. Its not an asshole response. It was a response to avoid you getting bent that I was talking about you. The blind dog knows who i'm talking about. But then I changed it to myself, because its Friday and I don't feel like arguing with you again today. Despite last nights loss, i'm in a great Friday mood and i'm not gonna allow you to try to change that.
So its myself cup. Myself.
Would be nice if you would just let people have their opinions without hijacking threads though.
Carry on.
