If you wanted to Maxie you could get a mortgage for the worst part of Detroit. You have the credit history, the credit rating and the assets that banks would be falling all over themselves to write that paper.

You probably haven't heard about this because 1) crime stories are local stories and 2) crime stories that do leap to national attention are rarely black on white crime (despite it being more common than white on black crime). There is a blackout among the national media regarding black on white crime, which occurs at rates greater than white on black.

As well, black on black crime rates are much higher than that of white on white crime.

Blacks who fear being crime victims should worry more about other blacks than the Zimmerman's of the world.

Florida 2000 to 2009:

White murders black: 414
Black murders white: 858 (up significantly from 529 in the 80's)

Florida population: White 57%; Black 16%

Trayvon Martin is a special case victim how?

The White Kills Black advanced stats are still twice as high when normalized to account for population percentages; there's so many white people that you can't hardly fire your gun in the air without hitting one.

On a slightly more serious note, I wonder what the conviction rates are for those two pools of murders.

On a micro level, sure. On a macro level? That kind of credit profile doesn't exist in those neighborhoods. Banks care about one thing: money. If they can find a way to make a buck, they will.

I think racism is one of the cheapest crutches there is and far overblown. Most people are far to busy and have far too many problems to care about the race of other people. And I think each generation becomes more and more accepting.

Do you think George Zimmerman was a racist or do you think he was on the lookout for people who he didn't know in his community?
