The core issue is this: Zimmerman claimed he was attacked, claimed he was pinned down while being attacked, and claimed he feared for his life and shot once in self defense.

This is supported by his injuries, supported by expert testimony that Martin was shot while on top (clothes hanging), supported by a witness who claimed he saw Martin on top. And nothing substantive provided by the prosecution proved otherwise. The prosecution failed to prove that Zimmerman DID NOT shot in self defense.

No one will ever know exactly what happened for sure. But, in the law you have to prove your case or the accused must be let go.

All of your ramblings are irrelevant. Zimmerman doesn't have to prove he was a hero or perfect or a good person or made great decisions. None of that shit matters in the proper application of the law.

You smear Zimmerman, yet why do you ignore the easy shots that can be made against Martin. With what we know now, it is easy to smear Martin as a drugged up, fighting, gun obsessed, delinquent, wannabe gang-banger, racist thug.

My name was Antonio West. I was the 13-month old child who was shot in the face at point blank range by two black teens, who were attempting to rob my mother, who was also shot.
I think my murder and my mommy’s wounding made the news for maybe a day, and then disappeared.
A Grand Jury of my mommy's peers from Brunswick, Georgia ruled the black teens who murdered me will not face the death penalty... too bad it was me who got the death sentence from my killers instead, because Mommy didn’t have the money they demanded.

See, my family made the mistake of being white in a 73% non-white neighborhood, but my murder wasn’t ruled a ‘hate crime’.
Oh, and President Obama didn’t take a single moment to acknowledge my murder. He couldn’t have any children who could possibly look like me - so why should he care?

I’m one of the youngest murder victims in our great Nation's history, but the media didn’t care to cover the story of my being killed in cold blood.

There isn’t a white equivalent of Al Sharpton, because if there was he would be branded a ‘racist’. So no one’s rushing to Brunswick, Georgia to demonstrate and demand ‘justice’ for me. There’s no ‘White Panther’ party, either, to put a bounty on the lives of the two black teens who murdered me.

while portions of GW's story are probably true, his overall story is ridiculous and has changed significantly over time. More importantly, the core issue for society is that he's proven to be a dangerous scumbag. I'm open to the possibility that Travon was scaring GW... he seems like Elmer Fudd caught in a desperate nightmare. His original story of Travon hiding in the bushes to jump him from behind fell to the wayside when during the walkthrough there were no bushes to jump out of. He shifts to "I couldn't see anything because of my busted flashlight" while at the same time saying Travon could apparently see him just fine... maybe it was that huge street lamp right beside George and all the other street lamps lining the roads and walkways that we see in the walkthrough? I've previously listed several other inconsistencies/laughable impossibilities in his stories and believe me there are more, but the point is he's obviously scrambling/lying

Sorry. I've broken a few noses, and theres always been a hell of a lot of blood. Dual black eyes happen shortly thereafter. It doesn't take much to bust someone wide open. If Travon had been raining punches down as George claimed, DNA evidence absolutely would have been on his hands and in his fingernails. George wouldn't have had a couple minor cuts he featured in the police photos. The evidence absolutely did not support George's stories

the prosecution failed in a lot of ways, but George absolutely sought the confrontation in the first place. Regardless of the jury's verdict, he's completely out of line. He showed up armed against the direction of his volunteer position. He ignored his neighborhood watch training & direct police instructions that night. At the very least, his most ardent supporters should claim he's a complete yahoo idiot. Given his violent history, he's exactly the sort of person that shouldn't be allowed to pack heat. That he did against orders and instigated this confrontation for no good reason is why this tragedy took place. Being found not guilty, does not mean you are innocent.

Given his history, I ask again how much smoke before it's reasonable to conclude that there is a fire? I've seen the police doing unreasonable things, but I never beat one of them up. How many girlfriends have alleged you beat them and then took restraining orders out on you? I don't know about you, but none of my cousins ever accused me of molesting them once let alone for 10+ years. I'm no Columbo, but my not being a sick fuck molester probably has a lot to do with that.

All of your ramblings are irrelevant. Zimmerman doesn't have to prove he was a hero or perfect or a good person or made great decisions. None of that shit matters in the proper application of the law.

You smear Zimmerman, yet why do you ignore the easy shots that can be made against Martin. With what we know now, it is easy to smear Martin as a drugged up, fighting, gun obsessed, delinquent, wannabe gang-banger, racist thug.

Does that mean he deserved to get shot?

If Zimmerman is less than a perfect person, does that mean he deserves to be railroaded when the proper application of the law requires he be let go?

Again, OJ Simpson was let go following killing his wife and another... society didn't just stand by and welcome him with open arms and GW doesn't have nearly the PR in the bank that Simpson did. Zimmerman's vigilante actions were the cause of this tragety. While this case falls in the grey area of whats legal (since he killed the other witness and Florida has some fucked laws), that doesn't mean society is going to forgive and forget his role in causing this.

I'm not sure what railroad you're claiming I'm calling for. I've said he's going to be ostracized from society. He's a PR nightmare and will have a hard time finding/retaining employment. I'd certainly avoid giving any company he might work for business... even you aren't naive enough to think that would just be me right? He already was a pariah within his greater family from molesting his cousin and reports are he's been estranged from his immediate family for years too. Now the cold shoulder will be world wide

I don't care about whose injuries were greater than the other. All I care is who started it--who created the situation.

In thousands of legal cases over the decades, a man #1 has followed a man #2, #2 has turned around, stood his ground, and a fistfight has ensued. The courts find #1 guilty of starting the fight. Sometimes #2 is adjudged to have contributed, but #1 gets the bigger penalty.

Each year, many convenience store robberies result in murder. The robber says he entered not intending to kill anyone. The law says that doesn't matter. What matters is who created the situation--who started it.

This case sends all crooks the news that they can chase you down, kill you if you resist, and then play the victim card to get off.
