Trayvon Martin, the 17-year-old who was shot and killed by a neighborhood watch volunteer, had the drug THC in his system the night of this death, according to new information obtained by ABC News.
The revelation came as prosecutors in the case prepared to release to the public hundreds of pages of new evidence along with videos and crime scene photos.
Martin's death sparked public outrage after police released Martin's shooter, George Zimmerman, without any criminal charges for the killing.
Zimmerman, 28, is a multi-racial Hispanic man who shot the black high school junior at close range on Feb. 26, and claimed self-defense, though Martin was unarmed. Zimmerman was later charged with second-degree murder, and the killing provoked widespread debate about racial profiling.
The autopsy report shows traces of the drug THC, which is found in marijuana, in Martin's blood and urine.
The autopsy also shows that Zimmerman shot Martin from a distance of between 1 inch and 18 inches away, bolstering Zimmerman's claim that he shot Martin during a struggle that landed Zimmerman on his back, Martin straddling him and banging Zimmerman's head on the ground.
Martin's autopsy report also revealed that there was a quarter-inch by half-inch abrasion on the left fourth finger of Martin, another indication of a possible struggle. The teen, who lived in Miami, was in Sanford while serving a suspension for a bag of marijuana being discovered in his possession.
Later today, a trove of documents that are part of the discovery in Zimmerman's trial are expected to be released on a website run by the state's attorney, including 67 CDs worth of documents, video of Martin on the night of the shooting, his autopsy report and videos of Zimmerman's questioning by police.
Evidence stating to be released.
You mean there's evidence that Martin pursued Zimmerman and killed him? Link? All other evidence is irrelevant to deciding who murdered who.
A Sanford police officer wrote in his report that he believed that the fatal Feb. 26 encounter between George Zimmerman and Trayvon was "ultimately avoidable" if Zimmerman had stayed in his vehicle and waited for police to respond to his 911 report of a suspicious person in the gated community of Retreat at Twin Lakes.

The same report said that Zimmerman had reported "suspicious persons, all young black males" to police previously on August 3, 2011; August 4, 2011; and Oct. 6, 2011.
"According to record checks, all of Zimmerman's suspicious person calls while residing in the Retreat neighborhood have identified Black males as the subjects,'' the report said.

You may want to go back further in this thread to find out more background about a string of burglaries in that complex. Unfortunately, pointing out that black males were the perps will probably make you call me a racist.

That means zip, zilch, nada to the case.
I just want to congratulate PapaG. You have proven what needs to be proven. Martin initiated this and killed Zimmerman.
its going to come down to whether or not people believe GZ started the fight
if so, he was asking for an ass whopping, and the shooting was cowardly
Didn't the transcript of the 911 call show that GZ stopped as soon as the dispatcher said he didn't need to pursue TM?Maybe to you. But I guarentee it will be evidence in the case and that the prosecution will use it.
To me . . . it means Zimmerman was itching to deal with this himself. Couple that the words he said when he decided to disobey dispatch (something to the effect I'm not going let this one get away . . . it's in this thread somewhere) but that is evidence to try to show Zimmerman already decided Martin had committed a crime and he was going to stop it.
Not saying Zimmerman was or was not acting in self defense when he shot Martin, but the fact he called 911 and did not listen to what 911 told him to do but instead took matters into in own hands, is a big part of this case.
Didn't the transcript of the 911 call show that GZ stopped as soon as the dispatcher said he didn't need to pursue TM?
(I'm not going to read back through this thread, but my recollection was that they could hear GZ running (in pursuit) and breathing hard, when dispatch said he didn't need to do that, and the sounds of running stopped, he said that TM ran off, and that he (GZ) was returning to his vehicle.)

Let's not get the known facts get in the way of an emotion-laden rant.
The address of the home pictured in the other videos is linked to Trayvon’s mother Sybrina Fulton. I will not post the family’s home address here but it is clear that this is Trayvon’s YouTube account and his mother’s home. It appears that Trayvon was involved in and enjoyed underground fights. Certainly, he was not the little angelic child the MSM made him out to be.
And what facts are those papag? What happened with 911 dispatch?
There is one person who is very clearly emotional about this topic, to the point where they are only considering facts that favor one side. Guess who that is? And keep telling us how Zimmeramn not listening to dispatch means nada, zip, zero to the case. Nice legal analysis, lol.
He did listen to dispatch. The dispatch said "we don't need you to do that", and Zimmerman stopped trailing Marting.
He did listen to dispatch. The dispatch said "we don't need you to do that", and Zimmerman stopped trailing Marting. Have you read a single thing in this thread? You're the one who went on an insane rant against neighborhood watch volunteers for simply trying to protect their homes.
Seems as if you're a very angry guy, and you also don't seem the least bit interested in actually trying to uncover facts about this tragic shooting.
