It's easy to overlook in the course of the regular season, but top teams usually get an opponent's best effort. How Portland handles playing with a target on their backs in the near future is going to be very interesting to say the least.

Nik, I have noticed an interesting air of confidence recently. Deservedly so if you ask me......I just haven't seen or felt that around here in a few years.

Then, by that proxy, Utah would be pretty damn good too. :ghoti:

Repped. LOL.

Shit... this is going to be hard to keep track of. It's like Six degrees of Kevin Bacon.

The Blazers beat the Pacers, making them the #1 team.... but the Blazers lost to the Suns (twice), so THEY'RE the #1 team..... but then they lost to Utah...... so the Jazz are the #1 team. This is making my head spin.

Not only that, Nate, but Utah ALSO beat Houston. :MARIS61:

I like to think of myself as an objective realist; in reality I know I'm more on the pessimistic side the spectrum, but the past four or five years there was increasingly less to be optimistic about with this franchise and I said so ... frequently. I also know for a fact this bothered the hell out of a lot of people and people sometimes take this shit personally, but I've always striven to call things as I see them. So now that the team is playing really good team basketball they've got my attention again and I just wanted to wait and see if this was more than just a hot streak before letting myself get invested again.

I have no idea if the way they are playing will hold up over the course of the season because so much depends on good health and a little bit of luck, but I like what I see.
