And from watching a ton of vids online including officers killing a variety of dogs with guns I have come to conclude that officers have been trained to use much more force than necessary.

I would use personal anecdotes from work where sheriff dept officers have "handled" an unarmed 80lb girl with such overbearing force I felt sick to my stomach with that "i know this could have been done better" feeling. Gave them the benefit of the doubt at that time, but to this day it doesn't sit well. But my posts always turn in to essays, so I won't go there.

Waiting for cops to rush him? Waiting for the right moment while watching the news coverage on his smart phone? Trying to remember if the red wire goes in the blue hole or the green hole? Who the fuck knows what this guy was thinking. All we know is that he's not sane and very fucking evil. It's what the police didn't know about the situation is why they made that decision.

Fine, your link says they have been practicing this. With C4 only?

Or, he was just a crazy person talking a bunch of nonsense after 2 hours. Why wait 2 hours if you believe he is going to blow shit up all over town?

The logic does not follow, what does is that the cops got tired of it. So they blew him up.

As I just asked, if you have a C4 bomb dropping robot why wait? Did it take exactly 2 hours for it to arrive and be set up or did they just grow tired of him taunting them?

Sticks and stones will break my bones but cops with bombs will fucking kill me.

1. It took time to clear the immediate and surrounding areas from people trapped and for possible additional shooters.

2. It took time to bring the robot to the scene.

3. It took time to load and set up the explosives.

4. It took time to get the robot into position.

5. The mayor had to be told of the plan and give his ok.

6. Officers had to get into place to respond or storm the terrorist's position if the bomb failed to kill or injure him.

2 hours for all of this to happen doesn't seen unreasonable to me.

Ok, fine. did they just drive the damn thing in there and blow him up or did they tell him first? Haven't read a word about him being warned. No camera or speaker system to communicate with him on the robot?

Why does the mayor have to be told of it and give approval? If I run for mayor, not sure how I will respond when I'm asked about my checklist for deciding when to blow people up with c4.

Mayor Mike Rawlings of Dallas, in an interview near the shooting site, described Mr. Johnson as having employed tactics designed to cause as much harm to people as possible. “He was really well trained in becoming a killing machine, O.K.?” he said. “Shooting low, fighting hand-to-hand at that one point, going high, shooting down another street. This guy trained himself not for that exact location, but he knew how to elicit pain on people.”

I have no idea but I'm guessing they probably didn't tell him what was going to happen for fear he would set off the bombs he claimed to have.

Yeah, you are right. He was just waiting for his chinese food to be delivered so he wouldn't have to blow up shit on an empty stomach.

Then, when he was hungry again in a few hours he could blow up more bombs.

I suppose they searched his house and found the bomb stuff before they blew him up? Otherwise that has no bearing on the decision they made at the time.
 
I also suppose they didn't tell him they would shoot him in fear of him blowing up bombs. They just asked nicely.

The police, the article, nor myself is saying what they found in his house after they had killed him had any bearing on the decision to kill him.

I'll never forget watching this video the first time. It is like Dame hitting the shot to beat the Rockets. Except when Dame hit the shot I was screaming "I knew he would do it"

When I watched the cops slaughter this poor crazy guy I was screaming"NOOOOOOOO, NO FUCKING WAYYYYYY"

Just like when I watched the video of the cop shooting the guy in the back when he was running away
