in a perfect world Moon would be a sixth man since he basically has no jump shot at all... but he is developing into a spectacular defender and getting him this late was just a steal

Outlaw is the better individual player, it's just that he can't play within and team and contribute in other ways than scoring as well as Webster can.

With that said, I think Webster was a good pick, not a steal at this point.

Gomes got taken in the same area and I think both of them are similar level players.

IMO Martell Webster is better than Francisco Garcia, Kapono, Korver, Pietrus, Hakim Warrick, Harpring and on the same level as John Salmons and Ronnie Brewer.

Every contending team has to have a versatile swingman off the bench like Celts had with Posey or Spurs had with Manu/Finley. Martell is definitely one of those kind of players that could step in when Kings James or Mike Miller need a breather, or possibly go down for a few games, he comes right in and will fit in. Webster is not only a definite team player unlike many NBA players these days, but he's a good all-around player. When Roy went down last year, Webster stepped in no problem and gave great production. He is also one of those last HS draftees, so he's still pretty young. Usually HS players don't perform or develop enough to contribute until their 4th or 5th year, while Webster has been playing for decent in the first 3 years. If Webster didn't have so many great young players there like Roy, Aldridge, and now Oden, I believe he'd be putting up Mike Miller's production this year. I think he's a steal cuz he fits my team pretty well off the bench because he fits my team player mold I want for my 6th/bench and compliments LeBron also since he's similar to Mike Miller on offense.
 
Theres something you are missing about Martell Webster. his psyche. He gets down on himself and constantly speaks to a doctor to get his head straight. Webster doesn't do anything that greatly and is pretty average for everything he does. Outlaw is the superior player like I said.

Webster's best attribute is his "3 PT shooting" which is streaky at best.

Like I said, good pick, not great.

And him putting up numbers like Mike Miller is laughable.

BTW, Garcia is a better player than Webster
 
There's nothing wrong with seeing a therapist. If anything, it's a healthy thing.

Most of these HS players have a weak psyche coming into the league, it takes them a few years before they're confident and developed enough to contribute consistently ala the 4th or 5th year thing I said. Look at Outlaw, last year was his 5th year and he finally started playing and contributing. Webster is 2+ years younger and putting up similar #'s to Outlaw, and is playing a bit more than Outlaw already. Webster is also a team player like I said and does what's best for the team, while Outlaw is a chucker. Outlaw is 28th in the NBA in shots per-48 minutes, while Webster takes 3 less shots in 2 more minutes played. Like I said, he's a much better team player that fits my team, which is great IMO. I said if he didn't have guys like Aldridge, Roy, and Oden, he could put up Mike Miller's #'s this year.

How much do you even watch Garcia? All he does is score and isn't the same team player that Webster is. Garcia also was the main focus on offense when Kevin Martin was hurt this year, helping boost his stats.

I'm not saying it is a bad thing. But his confidence is shaky and when he does something wrong he really gets down on himself.

I don't think he mentally has "it" to become a dominant player or even a James Posey off the bench clutch player.

He's an average player, and a good pick at this point because of his age and decent skills.

Does that make him that great of a player? He didn't have Oden last year anyways. And think about their starting lineup. If you can't seperate yourself as a better offensive option than Steve Blake you have problems. His confidence is shaky. If he goes into a slump he is completely useless for like 5 games at least.

Outlaw is a chucker because there is nobody else capable of being the man on Portlands 2nd unit. Outlaw also shot better percentages than Webster defeating his best "attribute"

can't put my finger on the reason, but curry sticks out like a sore thumb in that lineup (no pun)
other than that, i like that team - KG artest and sjax are probably some of the more tenacious/intense players in the league. curry is a complete 360 from that philosophy.

The rest of the lineup is good enough to make up for Curry's lack of defense and rebounding. All Curry has to do is take up space. On offense, Curry can score and has to be defended. The rest of that group can get him the ball. Of course, the question is would they? Plus, with Diaw as my supersub, Curry's minutes can be held down.

Team Psycho would be fun to watch.

Webster stats seem streaky but it's because he doesn't get the same amount of shots all the time playing with so many scorers. As my 6th man, he'll get consistent shots being the main option off the bench. Shooting a little higher % on offense doesn't mean they're a better player either. Garcia plays no D and gets more steals because he gambles like he's in Vegas. Webster is a much better team defense guy than Garcia, and I should know since I see over 80% of the Kings games since they're my local team. Outlaw should indeed have a higher FG% since he's a slasher, while Webster is a shooter. I said Webster was a steal because I feel he fits my team good and is what I wanted.

Outlaw's jump shots are within the 15-18 foot range though while Webster is around the 3 point line. You should make FT range shots consistently while the 3 is a little harder.

Most the games I saw Webster in last year were against Utah when Roy was out and Webster stepped up pretty big in those games. His stats don't really look that streaky IMO and I'll take his production considering most young players are in fact streaky/inefficient. Most players don't become consistent producers until their 4th or 5th year like I said earlier unless you are guys like LeBron or Shaq. His eFG% is above 50% which is pretty good for a jump shooter and he's still got loads of potential left considering he's only 21 right now.
 
Your using the one game he played against Utah where he exploded. Where was he most of the other games? Non-existant. I could say that about Garcia and his 31 point game too with Kevin Martin playing.

So your theory on Webster camping out at the 3 making his percentage lower is wrong.

Umm....Webster still takes longer jumpers than Outlaw though since he's camping around the 3 point line. Outlaw likes to drive into the paint and pull up alot more than Webster does since Webster is somewhat of a spot shooter while Outlaw drives more.

Webster and Outlaws 2 point jumpers are closer than you think. Watch the games next year.

Webster likes to drive too and try to throw down, more often than not ending in him pulling up for a jumper

Garcia and Outlaw both have higher EFF scores than Webster by almost 2 points.
 
Webster is definately a streaky shooter from 3, but when he gets it on, he's on! He's got the potential to be a terrific shooter, good defender but as for now he isn't a above average offensive player

The first names of my starting 5 are Andris, Udonis, Luol, Kobe and Beno. From a "wow, those some crazy names" perspective, I think that's the greatest in NBA history.
 
You should draft God Shammgod, Obinna Ekezie, and Mamadou N'Diaye with your next 3 picks.
