the locals were saying the same thing before he declared for Oregon so there is probably some truth it. But while ND wanted him as a LB, Iowa did recruit him as a WR so... my own guess is that he could probably play DJ Davis's physical blocking receiver role pretty well but if his hands prove too faulty he could be switched to D like Dion Jordan.
Regardless, dude's athleticism jumps out during his tape.... he can really really run for someone 6'5 215. I also saw the video of him announcing and he seemed bright and humble and received a huge ovation on his announcement from his HS despite not declaring for the local school. Another one of rivals top 100 players comes on board (#96) just an awesome pickup

I don't know why Cal does so well. I get that the school is amazing, but the football program sucks balls.
Academics and location?

Cal is a great school but they're also upgrading their stadium and facilities. Being in a major city appeals to lots of people as does the temperate Bay Area weather. It doesn't take much for me to understand their appeal especially with California recruits (like Bigelow and Gibson).

they really need a decent QB but seem to be strong everywhere else. Certainly recruiting is going well for them yet again.Sure, historically, but what's the current state of the program?
oh well, hopefully they can make up for those loses of recruits in Arizona, Utah, Florida, Iowa, Texas, Georgia, Pennsylvania, etc..Could we be seeing some of the first initial signs of losing recruits due to the lack of a game each year in southern California? Remember, even though Cal and Stanford are in our division, they somehow get games in So Cal each year.
The Ducks will get the players they need to, but they will absolutely lose 1 or 2 a year because of this
If you're a top flight football recruit, wouldn't you want to go somewhere with a good team? I mean, I guess if you don't see yourself playing football past college I would agree that Cal is a great school, but if that were the case I'd be applying to Yale or Harvard.
my wish list also includes...I'm sure there's other I missed but that's my wish list.
my wish list also includes...
Barr, Latu, Westerman, Bridgewater, Walls, Vaughn, and Dawson among the top guys

just my speculation, but he's not committed anywhere + I read that he camped in Oregon for some Nike camp last summer + Kelly was reportedly in Florida in the past weekBridgewater being the former Miami commit? Do we have a shot with him? He would be great.
The 6'1 218 pound Carson has named Oregon his favorite, has been offered, and is visiting next week. His Sr. highlights are even better then his Jr. He goes to the same HS that LMJ didA lot of the guys on Duckterritory are saying that the success of this year is going to effect next year's class more so than this year. And to be honest, we may have gotten our hopes up too much for Farmer. That high school is considered a farm school for USC, so I'm not surprised that they got him. As for Bigelow, I think the coaches are higher on Tra Carson personally, and we need another bruiser back as we have plenty of speed and depth at the position. Getting French and Wallace came as a bit of surprise and with some other good commits down the road I see this class coming no lower than 15th.
