Someone owes me a turd sandwich. I had a good feeling it was great news for Oregon when Tosh jumped ship.

I'm watching video after video of Shaq right now. He'd be an unbelieveable get. Chip needs to pull off the double whammy and leave UW with a goose egg.

Armstead just swallows guys up on O-Line. He could do great things setting up big runs for D'Anthony.

Armstead will be playing DE for us.

I realize that. I'm just talking about what he could do as an Offensive Lineman. We need defense more though. Armstead's SEC good on the defensive side as well.

I get the feeling that his defense is being underrated because he was so good as an offensive lineman. I think he'll open some eyes. I'm a little wary of him playing hoops though. I realize that was a per-requisite for him, but I don't want to see the guy overextend himself or get injured playing on some shitty basketball team.

can't believe none of you have posted this!!!!

@DuckFBnews #ArikArmstead Tells Oregon Duck Football News he and 5 Star safety Shaq Thompson DO have a pact to play together in college. #Oregon

Congrats on getting Arik. It never seemed like UW was really in it for him. I figured he'd stick with Cal, so I was wrong there. Shaq always seemed more likely to come to Seattle, but if that tweet above is right, he could be headed to Eugene as well.

hadnt seen that. Color me skeptical though lol. Shaq taking a 2nd trip to UW just seems to refute that IMO.

Well-placed sources at #UCLA and #Oregon each tell me Shaq Thompson committed to them last week. Then, he visits #UW

fwiw

DeForest Buckner has arms for days. He could tackle a guy five yards past him! He and Arik are going to be evil!!!!

To fans of other schools that read our board..... If you asked Oregon fans if we thought we had a real shot with Arik, I think the honest response would have been..... We'd love to get him, but it's a long shot! I was sold on the fact he'd be in the SEC or Cal too. This is Xmas for Duck fans who know we need size on our Dline!

That said, I"m as happy as a starving man on Thanksgiving for this kid to be a Duck!

One thing to keep in the back of ya'lls minds.... Shaq's parents pushed him towards the Ducks and now AA on board it might be the tipping point. UW may have Tosh but what are Shaqs real chances of winning anything special for many year to come there? With the Ducks he's in a top 5 program gunning for a national championship for the next few years! UW can't offer that!

UW 'won' half of a title before Shaq was born, though. So, they've got that going for them...

Damn it is real good to be a Duck right now. Not posting much but i'm getting a majority of my updates from here. Thanks for all the info, guys.

Keep it up!

Man this thread has gotten long. I went through and read through the first 30 or so pages and it's crazy how the year has gone so far. After going through it the one thing that caught my attention was how many recruits we actually turned away. Kwon Alexander, Faith Ekakitie, Randy Uzoma, and Aziz Shittu (Didn't give him an offer after a visit). One of those guys (sans Uzoma) would have been the cornerstone of our entire class in year's past, crazy.

dang you arent kidding. I pulled up last years Recruiting thread to compare. Last year's thread topped out at 34 pages and 835 posts and that was with posts coming in a month after LOI day.

2011 Recruiting Thread

We are at 51 pages and 1250 posts in this thread, and its just under 48 hours UNTIL LOI day. Thanks to everyone involved in this!

seems Shaq didn't appreciate this tweet by Hopkins very much... here's his response

@ItsShaqThompson Shaq Thompson(Grant)
Why does the media always put stuff you don't say, and say you committed some where you didn't #true facts

I thought that was in response to this.

@rivalsmike Also told that Shaq Thompson is very likely headed to #Washington now as well."

likely headed is different then committed, which is why I'd guess the JH tweet was the one being referred to

btw... who is rivalsmike? Mike Farrell?

I'm not sure. Somebody else made that assumption on DT so I thought that as well.

JH responds to it directly,

"I found it slightly comical, but I can assure you my information on that matter is rock solid. It shows you how torn this kid is, or maybe he doesn't understand the significance of giving someone your word."
