Addison looks intriguing. Great runner, looks like below average arm.
He's not being recruited as a QB.

Corner?
AA is a five star... Why are they calling him a 4?

Athlete at this point. Sign him up and let him compete. If you can't crack the rotation at one spot, then you can move to another spot, like Barner/Maehl did once Chip became OC. That's Chip's system. Armstead will get the same shot on defense, but if there are better players, you might see him move to OT, where he will be an All-American player.
consolation prize:
TonyDiFrancisco: Per my last retweet, Oregon got a commitment from Punter Dylan Ausherman. Rated the #2 punter in the country per Chris Sailor.
Well then, while the North will belong to us, the Pac-12 is gonna be a dogfight between the Quack Attack and the Men of Troy. Ducks have more 3stars, but USC has 2 5star O-linemen. And if Kyle Murphy goes to USC, that makes it 3, and UO chances for a Rose Bowl or a Natty is questionable.
Bad news:
TonyDiFrancisco Oregon also gets some bad news in recruiting. 3-star Inside LB Bryce Cottrell out of Plano, TX has flipped his commitment to U of Texas.
That leaves only Bafaro at LB in the 2012 class. No other LBs this year. Pretty rough, and kind of shocking when you consider how well our LBs have played and the prospect of early playing time.
You take two evenly matched teams and square them off it comes down to coaching and Chip is 10x the coach that Lamo Kiffen is! Lamo did jack crap in the pros, almost nothing at Tennessee and he knows as do all USC fans that they escaped Autzen! I like our odds next year!
I don't mean this as an insult Zalsa, but it doesn't seem you've been following recruiting very long. If rivals rankings of HS players directly projected to results on the field as it seems you're saying, then Oregon wouldn't have been anywhere close to appearing in 3 straight BCS games. Heck the Duck 2008 class which finished as the winningest in program history, was only rated as the 19th best at the time and it's top two straight from HS players were Justin Thompson (who was never admitted) and Chris Harper (who barely played his freshman year and then transferred).
The main explanations I'd point to for this are that coaching and player development matter a great deal, and the various recruiting lists are only guesses at whats what. The other thing is that it's not common for true freshman to be true impact players... somewhere between Devin Blackmon and Colt Lyerla's freshman year is more typical of a highly rated kid's first year in college then D'AT's. Another way of putting it, if USC is starting multiple freshman on their O-Line next year, I like our chances of absolutely destroying them.

So Zalsa.... you mod the USC forum but are a Duck fan? That's kind of like having Laker season tickets but wearing a Blazer jersey to their games!
Remember... Chip doesn't recruit position. He recruits athletes. Dion Jordan came in as a WR/TE and than flipped to DE.
Also, Star ranking doesn't mean anything.
After seeing the 2008 Ducks Recruit on Rivals STOMP provided me, I see Recruiting in a whole new different light. The fact that we turned Kenyon from a 3star back from Riverside(half hour drive from my place) into a starter nicely filling LMJ's shoes is nice.
I realize Chip is big on getting athletes and finding a place for them. We need speed and size on the corners. I'm trying to gauge where they have in mind for him. Dunmore will probably be a safety? Maybe wideout?
I remember Boyett was primarily a utility back in high school. He's turned into a helluva safety. Hawkins on the other hand shouldn't be catching (or attempting to) balls.
Early playing time? The Ducks signed 5 quality LB prospects last year and none of them are projected to start over upper-classman Clay Alonzo & Lokombo. I'm sorry to lose Bryce, but pretty much anyone coming on board this year at LB is probably looking at a Redshirt year.
