Re: 2012 Commits and Recruiting News

Aldophus Washington DE 4* on Rivals, 5* on Scout cancelled his Oregon visit for this weekend. Probably going to be a Buckeye from what I hear.

Why was he visiting Eugene this weekend when the Ducks are in Boulder?

Stud CB Kevon Seymour has scheduled an official visit for the WSU weekend at the end of this month... supposed to be a super kid

Also scheduling a WSU official visit is a Univ. of Nevada WR commit Randy Uzoma. He's relatively new to football but is an off the charts athlete, having posted the highest score at all the Nike camps. It will be the first college or pro game he has ever attended.

2013 QB Wyatt Houston from Horizon Christian high school in Tualatin, Or will also be visiting during the WSU game. He plays against poor competition(3A) but he has good size, 6-5 225, and from what I've been told he will be one of the elite recruits in the state of Oregon for that class.

Decent stat line for Tyner last night... 8 carries for 228 yards & 5 TDs.

Re: 2012 Commits and Recruiting News

Tyner will look great in orange and black!

Ohio WR prospect Dwayne Stanford won't be visiting next weekend vs WSU and is rescheduling for USC on Nov 19th. He had said he was going to announce Nov 9th following some Army HSAA ceremony but thats off as he wants to see Oregon first.

^ Good news! I was worried we just completely missed out on him.

Re: 2012 Commits and Recruiting News

Rivals article on Shaq Thompson.
http://footballrecruiting.rivals.com/content.asp?CID=1282508

"Oregon and Washington are tied," Thompson said. "There is no leader, nothing like that. I like Oregon, I like Washington and I like Cal.

"Both schools (Oregon and Washington) have great coaches and a great program. I love both programs. Washington's stadium is crazy and I love it there because it's just like San Francisco and that feels just like home to me.

"I liked Oregon but the only bad thing is it's a little too small. It's like a box and you have to jam things in there but I love Oregon. They have a nice program there."

Cal is right behind the Ducks and the Huskies for Thompson, who said his only concern is that the Golden Bears are having a tough time at quarterback. That might be an issue as Thompson, whose brother Syd'Quan played in Berkeley, examines all the schools remaining on his list.

"Cal is No. 2 because Oregon and Washington are tied for first," Thompson said. "I love Cal but it's really just the way they're playing. They're doing good on defense but it's like the quarterback spot is where they're struggling. Cal needs a good quarterback because they have every other spot there."

What the hell does the first part mean?

And LOL at "they hve a nice program there". He makes it sound like a cute little thing. We are a frickin national power!!!!

Re: 2012 Commits and Recruiting News

is he talking bout the dorm rooms or something?

Re: 2012 Commits and Recruiting News

Hey, he can go to Washington and I will enjoy our nice little program kicking the ever-loving-shit out of his program until he graduates

Re: 2012 Commits and Recruiting News

not saying its happening (as much) here, but I do enjoy watching people turn on recruits based on any words that are said. I took Thompson as talking about the Size of the City, and surrounding area. The dude is from Sacramento. He was comparing Seattle to San Francisco. And also talked about Oregon which is in Eugene. I'll let everyone else decide for themselves where Eugene falls on list of City Size :devilwink:

In terms of programs, Washington does not compare to us. That's where I stand on the matter.

Myself and probably 99% of the nation agrees with you. I just think it was either worded oddly by Thompson, or written poorly by rivals.

He seems to Jump from Washington's stadium, to "loving it there" and talking about the City of San Francisco all in one sentence. Thats what led me to believe he is talking about the location of each school.

Well that's just silly, judging a school on the city around it. You're not moving there for the rest of your life, you're planning on staying for three or four years. And Eugene is a beautiful city (parts of it anyway). It's not like the guy will be spending much time off campus, but hey, to each their own I guess.

I hear what you are saying. And can see that now at this age especially. But I've been following recruiting long enough to realize that a kid wants to feel like he is at home. And a lot of the time, parents want their kid closer to home. It can be a big part in some kids' decision.

Re: 2012 Commits and Recruiting News

Lets get all up in arms about a comment an 17 year old makes about a college town. Sounds like fun!

Who is up in arms? I merely said that if he chooses to go to UW, he will get to enjoy watching his team get monkey stomped for the next four years.

Re: 2012 Commits and Recruiting News

I think he was talking about the size of our stadium.

Re: 2012 Commits and Recruiting News

Bafaro apparently will announce Friday Night. According to RealDawg(Husky website)

reading the tea leaves on Bafaro and Foster, I'm going to guess we land neither one. Hope I'm wrong, especially on DJ

Bafaro is to announce Friday 10/28... a near lock that he's a Fusky

DJ Foster is to announce Friday Nov. 4th... it could go either way between ASU & us

Re: 2012 Commits and Recruiting News

Justin Hopkins said he talked to Bafaro two days ago and he thinks he's a duck, but then reiterated that he said "think".

Re: 2012 Commits and Recruiting News

Also some other news Kwon Alexander will be visiting for the USC game.
