reports are that 5* Safety Shaq Thompson will be at the ASU game on an OV. His brother played at Cal and he initially committed there too. He is reported to be very tight lipped towards the recruiting sites so Joe Shmos like me can only speculate why he has opened things up again. So here I go...

The tailspin the Cal program is in can't be helping their chances. On top of all the other things that the Ducks have going for them, they start a Sr and a Jr at the Safety spots so there is early PT to be had. I'd expect redshirt freshman starter CB Terrance Mitchell (also from Sacramento) to host him.

If he is a 5* safety I wonder why almost all his highlights are on offense?....

because he plays both ways and scoring TDs is move noteworthy then breaking up a pass or making a tackle?

rivals rates about 30 HS players in the nation worthy of 5* status... this guy they have @ #12. He's pretty much a stud

also read (albeit on a forum) that Tyner was there again last night, and decked out in Duck gear
 
besides Reggie Daniels, every rumored prospect showed up including TT, I've seen pix (see attachment). Nice to have them see a great game, meet other committed recruits (Baylis, Dunmore, Balducci), and see Cottrell commit. Very very positive

also of note, *4 LB Ken Ekanem named Oregon in his final group so we'll get a visit. He wants to major in business or sports marketing.

So that gives us what 3 DE recruits? That's good to see, would love to see us snag McCarthy at DT but not sure that's going to happen.

Speaking of USC their #1 recruit backed out of his commitment today.

Chatter I've heard is Oregon might make an offer but people seem to believe Alabama is the front runner right now.

Someone said Armstead sent Thompson a tweet that said this 'let me know how Oregon is'

Okay nice. So realistically which positions are we going for, I've heard we want to pick up another linebacker and running back, plus we're pretty much done for this class on quarterbacks.

Well I know we're targeting Andrus Peat and Kyle Long, but both those guys seem like long shots. I also know Jordan Simmons was really close to committing to us, but then backed off and seems like hes looking else where.
