Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects

Withey reminds me of Chris Anderson, but with post moves.

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects

Terrence Jones towers over Thomas Robinson when they stand by each other. If Robinson is 6'10" in shoes, then Jones is nearly 7'.

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects

Come on lady lotto luck!

Davis is a monster.

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects

Jones is a stretch four.

Btw, Jones measured 6'9" at the same camp.

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects

J'Covan Brown announced he's going to the draft. He'll be a borderline 1st rounder. Guy can put the ball in the hole.

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects

Robinson must have been wearing elevator shoes. He's at best 6'8" in shoes, if that.

Robinson looks at least as tall as Jones IMO.

someone on espn today called him a taller bird man, so you're not the only one making the comparison.

I just read T Ross declared and hired an agent. He's probably late teens/early 20's so shouldn't impact choice too much.

I wouldn't put too much stock in camp measurements. The summer Greg was entering the draft he measured 7'1" at one camp and 7'0" at another. Jerryd Bayless was measured 6'4" at one, etc.

Robinson looked shorter than 6'10" while Davis looked a little taller than his listed height.

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects

Question--If we do in fact get the Nets' pick this year (say, #7) and the FO decides that the BPA at that spot is Bradley Beal, and then they take Kendall Marshall with our pick, would you be upset with taking two guards in the lottery in the deepest, most big-man-heavy draft in years?

I would. Beal is too short to be a SG in this league. I would be ok with Marshall at the back of the lottery, but I think there are better front court guys available

I think we need to draft BPA no matter what. Doesn't matter if it's a guard or big man.

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects

I don't care who the team drafts, they just need more talent period. If you overlap at certain positions, that's why the NBA allows trades.

So if Beal happens to measure out at 6'5" in shoes, then you'd be OK with him?

I feel the same way. Lets get more talent. Drafting by need has not worked out to well for us in the past. And Beal will be gone by the 4th pick.

That's horse doodle. It's not like Beal is 6'1 or 6'2, he's a solid 6'4 6'5. Dwyane Wade is also 6'5.

If Beal's wingspan measures out well, (Wade has a wingspan near 6'11"), then that would offset any height problem he apparently has.

His wingspan is nowhere near Wade's

Yeah, I know. Beal's wingspan is listed at 6'7" currently. I don't expect that to change much when the ofiicial pre-draft measurements come out. And Wade is a freak of nature.

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects

Come on lady lotto luck!

Davis is a monster.

Davis might stay?

Probably not, but he says he hasn't decided yet. Would suck if we end up with two lotto picks and Davis isn't in the draft.

The pressure on him to declare now when he is the odds on number 1 pick will be huge. When was the last presumed #1 pick that stayed in school?

As the Naismith Player of the Year, Davis faced the most media inquiries about where he might be hitting the hardwood next year. One of the first questions was whether he was ready to come out for the NBA draft.
“No, I haven’t decided,” Davis said Monday night. “Coach (Calipari) says we have till April 29 to decide. I’m just going to wait till then, sit down with my coach, sit down with my family, see what the best decision is for me."

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects

He's one inch shorter than Wade at most. That's not something you should be crying about.

Who is crying?

Draft express measurements have him at 6'3.5" in shoes. That is more than an inch shorter than Wade, and his wingspan is 3" shorter.

Just because someone has a different opinion that you is no reason to say they are crying about something

Wade is listed at 6'4 just so you know.

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects

Measured out at the combine at 6' 3.75", 6' 5" in shoes.

His point, though (I think) is that although Wade and Harden are under 6'5", they're freaks of nature, exceptions to what is necessary to succeed at SG. Shorter SG's like Marcus Thornton or Monta Ellis can't make it in the NBA.

Eric Gordon is another example of a successful 6'3 sg.

Wade measured taller barefoot than Beal is listed with shoes on so you know.
