What is with all the love for a white non dominant college center in the lottery?

I want to stay very far away from Zeller - he's meh at best. If I had to would rather take a chance on a much more athletic Meyers leonard, and frankly I really don't want us to go with either one of those. Try to get a C in FA/trade and perhaps draft Fab Melo and Oquinn in late 1st rd or in second.

Exactly. Gun to my head on white centers I take Leonard, but would rather snag someone in the low first or second. Other than Melo of course because he is from Syracuse, and they all suck

Here's somebody for one of our second-round picks: Kostas Papanikolaou.

Chad Ford was asked about him in a chat today:

Marc (New York)

Kostas Papanikolaou was amazing in the Euroleague Final Four. Did he boost his draft stock into the first round?

That may be going too far. Teams were impressed with his play -- especially on the defensive end where he shut down Andrei Kirilenko. But he's now strongly on the radar as a potential second round pick. It's a weak international class and his performance at the highest level of European basketball was very impressive.

Actually, it's #11 morphs into #2, and then #6 is pushed back one to #7 (and this is how the author had it, as it even says the #7 is from NJN). If #6 were to morph into #2, NJ keeps the pick.

The whole reason I explained the morphing was to make your point. Then the words streamed out of my fingers the opposite of how I conceptualized them. I should have just kept it simple and not tried!

DX with an update:

#6: Jared Sullinger
#11: Terrence Jones

NBAdraft.net:

#6: Bradley Beal
#11: Kendall Marshall

Larry Miller (transcript of Blazersedge):
Hopefully New Jersey gets the fourth pick and then we'll get to have two good first round picks that we'll have a lot of options to do things with.

Is anyone else a bit concerned that he doesn't even know that we cannot get the fourth pick? I would expect him to know that.

^ i honestly don't know why we can't get the 4th pick either.

If NJ moves up from #6 it'll mean that they moved into the top-3.

The #4/#5 pick is not possible.

Yes. Even I knew that. That's scary.

I could just as easily say we're going to draft #6: Bradley Beal and #11: Kendall Marshall.. what's the point of linking to these mock drafts.. they're just random guesses bases on ill-conceived conjecture

Even less. most of them are just slotting players, and not taking into account team needs. Normally that doesn't happen until the draft lottery is done

Pizza delivery boy saw a Terrence Ross workout and was floored. He said he will be almost a lock to go in the lottery if it continues

Yeh, but we don't rely on you to know this; to me it's just another sign that we have really inadequate management. I don't care if his main area of responsibility is financial (and i don't know that it is); this is something he should know.

Interesting that all 4 of these writers have Harrison Barnes being picked BEFORE #6........

NBAdraft.net's SG ranking o0.

#1: Lamb is arguably the most dynamic perimeter scorer in the country when you consider his shot-creating/making abilities in the 15-25 foot range. He's a better shooter than his percentage suggests, and with arms long enough to row a paddle-less canoe, Lamb should get plenty of clean releases. Because of his offensive takeover capabilities, his upside surpasses Bradley Beal's, however a down-year showing a lack of leadership might have put a scare into NBA evaluators. Individual mentoring and daily practice reps with professionals can only help Lamb achieve his potential.

a couple of those mocks have us getting trob and lamb, i would be tickled pink

If we go the rout of signing a PG free-agent (Lin or Dragic) I'd really look to package both picks to move up for Beal.

Quality over quantity!

It's just interesting to me how Beal was in the top 4, 3 weeks ago and now is 6th a lot of places and how Barnes has moved up to 5th almost everywhere. Can't wait for official weigh ins and workouts to start!

Depends on if you believe the pundits. If there is actually a chance that Beal is available at #6, I would rather sit tight and add a second quality player.
