Zombie 2012 NBA Draft (10 Viewers)

I say don't fuck with it and just take the BPA at 6 and the BPA at 11 and call it a day. I think we're in a very good position to get two very good players.

I think Portland should identify who they think are the best players and go out and make sure they get them. In a draft like this teams are going to value the top 6 players very differently. If you think a guy in the top 6 is a franchise guy (besides Davis) then you make sure you get them. Don't let others dictate who you are going to draft. I hope the front office is very proactive in getting what they want. What good is it to have an owner like PA if you don't use it to get what you want.

Twitter tidbits:

*Hornets eyeing Lillard at #10
*Blazers looking to trade down from #11 <----Fucking great. The team severely lacks talent and they look to trade down to take an inferior prospect?
*Nets looking to get into the first round

Link? No mention of that from Ford or Stein.

I think you have to trade up to get the best possible talent.

Studying the draft class of next year and the top 50 HS talent (Scout.com) the PF/C crop is scary weak. So I've revised what I think the Blazers should do on draft night:

TRADE UP FOR THOMAS ROBINSON!

Outside LaMarcus the frontcourt is as thin as it has been in years.

Hmmm ... you know, I think that might actually work. I think he's going to be a really, really good power forward.

I really like TRob. We have needed an inside threat badly since ZBO. Even still, I would love to keep one of our lotto picks and grab one of the guards..... whether it's Lillard, Waiters, Lamb, Ross, etc.

To get that #2 pick I don't think that's possible. There is no incentive for the Bobcats to trade that high of a pick unless you overpay a little.

The weirdest measurements of the day:

Meyers Leonard:

6'11.5" w/o shoes | 7'1" w/shoes | 7'3" wingspan | 8'11" standing reach

Love this. I'v been high on Robinson all year but this combine made me want to him in a Blazers uniform pretty badly. Think Griffins explosiveness with an actual ability to guard someone.

And Robinson has a better back to the basket game then Griffin. He won't make all the highlight dunks but he is going to be very very good.

What are the chances that New Orleans shocks the world and takes Robinson #1 overall?

Fucking finally, for once, I agree with you about something draft related.

Robinson & Aldridge would make an intimidating front line for years to come.

BRoy has been advising Wroten apparently.

Damian Lillard 6'1.75" socks 6' 2.75" shoes and 6' 7.5" wing 8' 0" reach

Kendall Marshall 6'3.25" socks 6' 4.25" shoes and 6' 5.5" wing 7' 10.5" reach

Perry Jones 6' 10.25" socks 6' 11.5" shoes and 7' 1.75" wing 8' 10.5" reach

Austin Rivers 6' 3.5" socks 6' 5" shoes and 6' 7.25" wing 8' 1" reach

Dion Waiters 6' 2.5" socks 6' 4" shoes and 6' 7.35" wing 8' 2" reach

Jared Sullinger 6' 7.75" socks 6' 9" shoes and 7' 1.25" wing 8' 11" reach

Terrence Jones 6' 8.25" socks 6' 9.5" shoes and 7' 2.5" wing 8' 9.5 reach

Thomas Robinson 6' 7.75" socks 6' 8.75" shoes and 7' 3.25" wing 8' 10" reach

Michael Kidd-Gilchrist 6' 5.75" socks 6' 7.5" shoes and 7' 0" wing 8'8.5" reach

Andre Drummond 6' 9.75" socks 6' 11.75" shoes and 7' 6.25" wing 9' 1.5" reach

Brad Beal 6' 3.25" socks 6' 4.75" shoes and 6' 8" wing 8' 3" reach

Harrison Barnes measured 6-8 with 6-11.5 wing

Jared Sullinger 6' 7.75" socks 6' 9" shoes and 7' 1.25" wing 8' 11" reach

Thomas Robinson 6' 7.75" socks 6' 8.75" shoes and 7' 3.25" wing 8' 10" reach

This kind of stuff always fascinates me. How does Robinson measure the same height as Sullinger with a 2" longer wingspan, but a 1" shorter standing reach?

Austin Rivers 6' 3.5" socks 6' 5" shoes and 6' 7.25" wing 8' 1" reach

Brad Beal 6' 3.25" socks 6' 4.75" shoes and 6' 8" wing 8' 3" reach

As a comparison: BRoy's numbers.

6'5.25" no shoes, 6'6.25" with shoes, 6'8" wing, 8'5" reach

Thomas Robinson only measured in at 6' 7.75" w/o shoes, but has a huge wingspan at 7' 3.25" and monster hands (9.75 x 10.5).
