Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects

because you play basketball with the top of your head, duh

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects

if he measure 6'3.75" without shoes, hes dead to me

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects

6'4" without shoes makes him as tall as Wes is. Still with a wingspan an inch or so shorter. My worry with him is his previous measurement is more accurate, making him more along the size of Westbrook and Jack.

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects

What exactly does 1 inch mean for a wing? Seriously, you're grasping at straws.

Depends on the inch and the wing position.

If it's 6'9" or 6'8" for a small forward, then nothing

If it's 6'4" or 6'3" for a shooting guard, then a lot more.

Beal is not a combo guard. He is a 2 and a good shooting one in high school with a lot of skill.

Without the ball handling skills

Eric Gordon is 6'3. One inch means nothing. That extra inch isn't going to make him a better defender. It's not going to make him a better shooter, finisher, etc. If you're going to pick at his flaws, then pick at his flaws. That extra inch doesn't change him as a prospect.

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects

I'm interested to see how Lillard does at the combine. The guy can put the ball through the hole.

In your eyes it doesn't, but in mine it does. There's really no need to argue about it. Gordon's wingspan is 6'9", while Beal's is 6'7". I think it makes a difference. Gordon is also a lot more athletic than Beal is, and has an easier time getting his shot off

Me too. I really don't like that he has already had foot surgery though.

I am really interested to see if he can actually run an offense. He was basically a shoot first guy at Weber St

Not every player that has an injury in college is destined for a career ravaged by injuries.

Seems like the real issue is his wingspan.

Wingspan and standing reach are always more important. Like someone joked earlier, which was spot on, you don't play basketball with the top of your head. If two players that are, and one has a 6'10" wingsan, but the others is only 6'7", then it's a huge problem. But if a player is 6'4" and that same other player was 6'7" with the same singspan, then it wouldn't matter

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects

It's not that huge of a deal.

Actual heights of the members of the Team USA Olympic basketball were released, and they're lower than those in the NBA Register.

Player List Actual

Charles Barkley 6-6 6-4

Larry Bird 6-9 6-7

Clyde Drexler 6-7 6-5

Patrick Ewing 7-0 6-10

Magic Johnson 6-9 6-7

Michael Jordan 6-6 6-4

x-Christian Laettner 6-11 6-9

Karl Malone 6-9 6-7

Chris Mullin 6-7 6-5

Scottie Pippen 6-7 6-5

David Robinson 7-1 6-11

John Stockton 6-1 6-0

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects

Ford's mock would be worst case scenario for me. I hate both of those players, and Lillard has already had surgery on one of his feet. No thank you

They sound like Blazers to me.

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects

I'm torn on Barnes. I think he'll be an above average player for sure. But, I don't think he has a burning desire to be great. He's good when he attacks, but he'd rather settle for jumpers.

He seems to have a Marvin Williams type demeanor.

Blah.

He can be Danny Granger but if he doesn't get it together between the ears he's destined to be a meh type of player like Marvin Williams or Martell Webster.

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects

My vote:

Nets pick: Drummond or Beal

Our pick: Barnes or Lillard

BOOM.

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects

Drummond's about to enter the draft.

Re: 2012 NBA Draft Prospects

If the NJ pick is around 5-7 range and Beal/Drummond aren't available I'd offer GS the pick for Klay Thompson and see if they bite.

With our pick in the 10-12 range I'd target Kendall Marshall.

No idea why they'd bite. I know I wouldn't if I were them.

Lamb would be a nice addition
