If we go the rout of signing a PG free-agent (Lin or Dragic) I'd really look to package both picks to move up for Beal.

Quality over quantity!

I really really don't want us to go after Bael. A lot of what i'm worried about him will be answered by the Combine so i'll wait tell then to totally check him off my list but he seems like a Gorden/Monte type player. Great bucket getter but offers little to nothing else.

Except that one of the strongest parts of his game is defense. Which neither of those guys play much of.

Use both picks to improve this weak roster....and use free agency to add some (2-3) young vets to fill in some holes.....

The best way for POR to improve thier team in a significant way is going to be through the draft...trading the picks for aging\mid tier veterans is a highway to fucking nowhere....

Remember, according to our "brain trust" they are looking to add players who are age appropriate with Aldridge. LA is 26, so draft picks don't really fit the bill.

My guess is they use the picks, and trade them during or after the draft for guys like Iggy, Collison, etc

Yeah, well they are idiots....

I give you Nolan Smith and Ray "fat man" Felton as evidence 1a and 1b....

So you think Andre Miller was our path to the title, and it was stupid to get younger at the position?

Noob question - could Bradley Beal be the next Dwayne Wade, Igoudala, or Eric Gordon? Some of the highlight video looks really good, and he would need to bulk up more. Wade seemed to be all around better coming out of college as was Gordon, but Beal seems to be more polished than Igoudala coming into the NBA. If we can get him could Beal be our answer at the SG position?

PS - if this has already been addressed on one of the previous 41 pages on this thread, I apologize - I haven't been keeping up with this thread in its entirety.

Come on, rookie. You gotta earn your stripes. Not ready every last post in this 41-page thread is really making me question your desire to be a part of this board.

I think he's too small and doesn't possess the skills to make up for it.

He's the same height as Eric Gordon (6'4" in shoes), has a shorter wingspan, weighs less, is less athletic, and can't shoot from deep.

Shooting guards undoubtedly have to guard (and be guarded by) small forwards or big shooting guards from time to time, something I think he can't do with consistency due to his lack of size and elite athleticism.

So, me and Fez are the only one's on this board that think Beal will be a good NBA player.

Hard to tell with Beal. He had great rebound numbers, but most admit his scoring wasn't as good as people thought it would be. I think it will be moot, but if he slips down . . . It's hard to see why he would be so far ahead of Lillard. It looks like it is all on potential, after a so-so freshman year.

He hung 20 points, 8 boards and 5 assists on Kentucky in the tournament. That's legit. He'll be just fine in NBA where the rules/refs seem to favor guards these days.

Is Beal gonna be another Rashad McCants?

McCants was the beneficiary of paying with a much more talented college team (May, Felton, Noel). Beal is doing his damage on a much worse squad.
