An under-the-radar move when he becomes an UFA:
Jrue Holiday
Jrue Holiday
Throughout the past month, a number of NBA personnel people have told ESPN.com that Lillard has been one of the top players they have seen, and they have nothing but glowing reviews. Lillard is expected to interview extremely well during the Chicago pre-draft camp and in the weeks that follow when he visits individual teams.
Rahe said that Portland, which has the Nos. 6 and 11 picks, has been calling quite often
Lillard is the one guy everyone on this forum seems to agree
Really like his upside
I like his upside but I'm still firmly on the Beal/MKG bandwagon.
I just don't get Beal. From what I see he is a shorter Ray Allen at best. He is trying to sell himself as a PG now, which is kind of weird too.
I like MKG, but he scares me too. He reminds me of one my favorite college players from way back. Highly recruited, strong leader, good rebounder with high bball IQ, but not a great outside shot. 6'8" 220 lbs. small forward. He was drafted 6th in his class. He did end up developing his outside shot, but I wouldn't have wanted to take him at #2.
Shane Battier. I'm afraid that is MKG's ceiling.
Barnes to the Cavs at 4? No idea why, but after a nice pizza last night I came to this conclusion

I think POR will be using both #6 & #11 based on what Olshey and Allen were saying and I would not be surprised to see them buy a late 1st or trade thier 2nd rounders to move up to the late 1st....
I think they will try and bring Freeland & Claver over...add 3 rookies and then add 1 significant FA, any others will be on short (1-2 year contracts) to fill in any holes in the roster....
I would also not be surprised to see POr use some of its cap space to gain a pick or young player from a team who wants to shed some salary....
If Drummond could put up Tyson Chandler-type numbers for the Blazers, would you still take him at #6?

Hell yeah! Why wouldn't you? An energetic big man that can block shots, rebound, play tough, gritty D on other big men. Who doesn't need that on their team?

I think it's important to note that he didn't say play like Chandler, but put up Chandler-type numbers. No guarantees of gritty d there.

The Charlotte Bobcats are open to the idea of moving the second pick but are asking a steep price. According to a source, Charlotte will want one impactful draft pick this year and one other prospect with high upside that may be in the NBA right now. From the sound of things the Bobcats most logical partners from a trade standpoint might be Cleveland, Sacramento, and Portland.
