Drummond = DeAndre Jordan/Tyson Chandler
Drummond = DeAndre Jordan/Tyson Chandler
Well, which? Those two are not very similar. Jordan is a dunker and little else, while Chandler is a great defender. (Jordan is barely adequate.)
What worries me about Drummond, besides the fact that he apparently doesn't know how to play, is that he's a surprisingly mediocre defensive rebounder.
They're more than similar offensively.
Defensively Chandler is a better man defender while Jordan is one of the best shot blockers in the NBA.
I see Drummond as a guy that will have everything set up for him offensively while being able to protect the rim on the defensive end.
His upside is higher than any in the draft, but I'm not sure how close he'll get to reaching it. He's a big project.
Huge.
He's probably a good three years away.
It is going to be interesting...it seems after the combine quite a few players are rising. It's going to make for a very fun draft because honestly, after Anthony Davis I don't think anyone has a fucking clue of where people are going to go.NBAdraft.net with an update:
Drummond rises to #2
Lillard at #6 (over Beal? come on, son!)
Leonard rises to #10
Terrence Ross at #11
Just curious, do you guys watch much college basketball or do you base most of your decisions off of draft measurements and "experts" picks?

Ford is quite bad at remaining unbiased with some players.Some "experts" always fall in love with certain prospects, totally buying into the hype.
Chad Ford is notorious for this. He was on that Darko over LeBron bandwagon and was head over heels for Pavel Podkolzine.

NBA Comparison: Jermaine O'Neal/Jason Thompson
Strengths: High-level athlete combo forward with excellent size and length. Versatile offensive skill set to score inside/outside (16.5 PPG). Could be seen as being big enough to play center in today's NBA. He possesses rare agility at 6’11 in tandem with a hunger for activity and relentless motor. Runs the court like a guard, with a fluid gait and long, easy strides. Nightmare matchup for opponents on the interior due to explosive quickness and elevation. Extraordinarily nimble and quick mover in the paint. He has added strength and bulk (225 to 240) without losing that calling card explosiveness. Uses his athleticism to earn high percentage looks (58%), elevating above defenders. Displays a deft touch and equally adept at finishing with his left hand. Electric spin moves in the post over either shoulder, preferring to attack baseline. Body control and hang time to make the appropriate in-air adjustments and alter release after a bump or if impeded. 83% free throw shooter on over 5 attempts (65% as sophomore). Rebounds at will on both the offensive and defensive backboards, ranking amongst the nation’s leaders with 10.8 per game. Quick leaper on multiple jumps while still retaining 1st jump lift. Utilizes his length and mobility to rebound out his direct vicinity. Flourished on the perimeter during his time at UTEP, albeit in a more liberal style of play. Comfortable in the mid-range with the ability to step out behind the three-point stripe. He has the potential to be an effective face-up weapon with a quick first step and long frame. Had a tendency to play in a “rushed state” early in his collegiate career, but has found an efficient pace his junior season. Doesn’t force shots and playing within a more defined role for the betterment of the team. He displays legit lateral quickness and foot speed to defend on the perimeter and not look like a fish out of water. Multiple position defensive adaptability. Mentally and physically a different player since arriving in the SEC.
After reading about the uncertainty in Boston following their heartbreaking end to the ECF, I'm thinking a perfect draft scenario is get Lillard and whatever frontcourt prospect is available (i.e. PJIII), then go hard after Steve Nash and Ray Allen in free agency and hope to hell that our medical staff can keep them healthy.
Lillard's big question mark is how well he can run a team, and who better to learn from than Nash? At this point in Nash's career, they would probably split the minutes 50/50, so plenty of time for Lillard to develop. And for Nash to be at his most effective, you want a shooter like Allen to help spread the floor.
With Nash as a two year (at most) rental...

Jeff Goodman @GoodmanCBS
Kendall Marshall may go up against fellow PG Damian Lillard next week in either New Orleans and/or Portland, source told CBSSports.
The 76ers may be trying to trade up in the draft. They met with center Andre Drummond at the combine, even though he'll be long gone by #15.
If they played 5v5 Marshall's strengths would shine.
Bad move by his agent!
We are one of the few teams in the lotto that can slide up to #2.
Oh well, as I've mentioned in another thread, this team needs a big in the worst way.
