Vanderdoes should just turn on a TV this fall and see the Ducks play football. If he wants a shot at the NFL, a Pac-12 education, and a great shot to play in BCS bowl games, Oregon should be for him, or even USC. If he wants to be pampered and paraded around and treated like a diva, he should play XBox online with guys like Tosh Lupoi and go to UW or Cal.

This wooing of kids over the interwebs and game consoles by coaches/fans/boosters is ridiculous, IMO.

Yes.. Because Arik Armstead wants Duck fans to tweet Eddie Vanderdoes.. means Eddie Vanderdoes wants to be pampered.. If its gonna help a major prospect come to oregon.. why not send him a quick tweet? This isn't 1990 bro, we can actually contact recruits via facebook and twitter.

Knock yourself out, then. I just think it's dumb of fans to do it, because pretty soon, fake fans pretending to be from a school will open accounts and will start to work from that angle as well. That already happened with a fan pretending to be an Oregon fan on Twitter this month, didn't it? That account got deleted, but the "Duck" fan was harassing Shaq Thompson on Twitter.
 
Don't know. Never saw anything before he committed and stopped following after he committed to Washington. I did see a USC fan slamming Arik because he was most likely not going there. Anyways, I've seen alot of people tweeting him (eddie vanderdoes) to go to their school. I think he's more interested in Cal and UCLA.. but I would definitely feel comfortable saying he has high interests in Oregon.

A recent quote from Max via rivals..."Oregon has always been a school I have a lot of interest in," replied Redfield. "They are at the top of my list along with USC. Pretty much the program they've had over the past years, the beautiful campus and the facilities they have are all attractive to me."

To me Oregon recruiting is fascinating now. Along with the current national prominence, we are at a "generation" now of High School recruits who have grown up with Oregon making buzz, and making the news around their most impressionable ages as children.

Its hard to explain I guess, but before Oregon not only would have to fight the USC's of the world due to location, and prestige, but also recruits grew up not knowing much about Oregon because they were bad for so long.

It just fascinates me I guess, to read those comments from recruits saying "Oregon has always been a school I am insterested in" or things along those lines.
 
Agreed. I just got into recruiting. And it's quite fun!
 
it definitely has transformed a lot in just the last 6 years or so that I have been following it.
 
Forget all this Tweeting BS for recruits!!! Kick USC ass on their field, have the Mamba step into a 180 yard 4 touch game against them, and put Barkley on his ass! Then crush Stanford and UW by 30... If you don't wont to play for the Ducks after that..... who needs ya!!

As far as I'm concerned the OOO is a privilege to play for... When we turn into Beggin Lamo Kiffin and the US Cash boys to get 5* recruits this program has become cheapened! We've beaten USC 2-3 years without any 5* recruits and beat them badly.... that should say something as well!
 
I feel for comfy with JT and Troy. They can run and throw, while Sefo can only throw.

not according to the highlight tape I watched... rivals lists him as having run a 4.5 40

With Meyer in Columbus, I would be shocked if any top Ohio recruit considers tOSU and actually goes elsewhere.

Well...Oregon has yet to offer and Meyer has a full year and season ahead of him. He's a Buckeye
 
Hopkins is saying don't get your hopes up about Barrett. From what he understands Barrett doesn't want to leave the region.

Sefo, Troy Williams, Khari McGee, and Kenny Hill are other main QB targets.

He also said Kelly likes to have 5 QB's under scholarship so we will probably only be taking 1 this class.

Also here is a little tidbit about Kenny Hill

Southlake (Texas) quarterback Kenny Hill is on an advanced timetable. The 6-foot-1, 200-pound three-star has offers from Texas A&M, Texas Tech and Baylor.

Oregon, Texas, Stanford and LSU are also showing early interest.

With Oregon and Stanford calling from the West, do they have any shot with the talented signal-caller?

So what is everybody's wish list? Try and be realistic I guess. As much as I'd be in unbelievable euphoria if we landed Nkemdiche, I just don't see us pulling him out of SEC country.

All these guys are on the rivals 250 and we have a better than average shot at all of them. Last year we only had 7 from the rivals 250 and no 5 stars. This year we already have a 5 star from the rivals 250 in Thomas Tyner. So realistically I'm not expecting half of these guys.

Hutchings and Vanderdoes should definitely be high priority though.

Players that I personally want our staff to go after hard. Willis I think will move up in the next batch of rankings. His size along with his speed are a rare combination at the corner position.
