And we lost Quick and Mitchell. No big surprise

Mitchell wasnt coming here. Only reason O hat was on there was because AA/UA wanted at least 3 hats

Even with Chip staying Dontre still interested in Ohio state will talk to father about arranging visit. 247 Ohio st members seem to think he is an Ohio state lock.

I don't really get as excited about recruiting as I did a couple years ago. Watching guys join the program who I thought had a lot of promise, and literally never saw them even play before they transferred (Blackmon, Seastrunk, Sumler), has made me realize that it's fun to follow recruiting, but it's really not that important. Many of the guys who contributed to the last four years weren't even highly ranked. So for me, I don't really care or get disappointed if someone goes somewhere else. I think it's great if we pull some big names, but it's more important that Chip recruits guys who fit our system.

I follow it because I enjoy seeing the new blood enter the program and like to get to know their stories. Seeing the players and their families get excited about their new opportunity is fun too... it's pretty much the same dynamic that always has me following the NBA draft. In recruiting I've seen enough 2* guys blossom and 5* guys fade to know that the ratings are just best guesses by sites as to which 17 year old projects best. I've relayed the same personal anecdote of growing 8" after I turned 17 many times because it highlights what a fluid situation the ranking of talent truly is. The goal isn't to get the best 17 year olds to commit, it's to get the guys who will be the best at 19-21 and those qualities don't always show up in their HS highlight reel

To me it's overwhelmingly obvious that Oregon's staff knows what they're doing based on the results on the field.

I wonder if Green ever came out to Oregon and saw all the cool things going on here if he wouldn't want to be a Duck!

I'd rather Green go to Michigan. I like the Wolverines(my dad is a fan, grew up in Detroit). He and Morris would compliment each other nicely.

recent USC de-commit DE Kylie Fitts lists Oregon in his new top 5... says he's not sure that he'll commit before signing day as he plans on taking as many OVs as necessary to find the right school

this Friday ends the dead period of recruiting where schools and prospects can't talk/meet, so expect a flurry of activity as we lead up to Feb 6th. JC QB Tanner McEvoy is expected in this weekend

That's just because they haven't updated his listing yet. The rivals article where he was quoted was from yesterday

Hooper and Oser to Sanford. Oser not a suprise, Hooper is a little. 247 thought Oregon would land him.

Stanford is a great school and I like their coach. They are going to be our only real competition in the Pac for a while. That said my dark horse LB for the Ducks is that kid we picked up with 2*'s from that LA juco "WALKER"....... I think he may hit with real bad intention!

In 247's final rankings Tyner moves uo to a 5 star, but one of our 4 stars is dropped to a 3-star and Pisarick is still a 2 star.

interesting read. Glad we have been in on helping him. Def helps our chances.

Dobule post bro

Otherwise, Falah would be an awesome get for OL. He has the perfect size to succeed at Oregon, not to mention an Oregon degree plus the fact that Chip is staying and en route to a 5th BCS bowl and playoff appearances in the future, and running to block the second coming of Adrian Peterson? Very nice.

Great visit with coach Kelly went better than expected

Splendid. An O-line like him would suit very nicely at Oregon. He must have heard about Fitts and should be wary.

Also, some people are claiming that Eddie V will commit to Bama. Do they have good baseball? I see him going to UCLA instead.

EV will go to whoever gives him the most national exposure for his recruiting tour for that week! UCLA, Bama, maybe back to USC, Fuskies, maybe ND who knows since they didn't win!

This is one kid I'm glad the Ducks did say no more to.....How funny this kid is, he said he didn't want to play NG at Oregon but at ND and Bama that's where they have him penciled in to play!

Moving on..... I think Hutchings is still ripe to be flipped and we need LB's. He'd be foolish to not look at us again. He'd start for sure, and play in real bowl games, UW and USC can't give him that!

Oh and this kid coming here to see Oregon this week from Bama is a stud! Dion Jordan in the making.......
