They also said in their chat session, dontre has a greater chance of landing at Ohio State than Oregon.

pretty much whenever anyone brings his name up you're right there to throw the same bucket of pessimism. It's the time of year when the recruiting sites crank up the rumors but right about now no one probably knows what DW will do including Dontre. So again... we'll see

Heres my best shot at the positive angle. Certainly he won't choose tOSU over Oregon because of the depth chart. Their top back Carlos Hyde should be back for his Sr. campaign, they've 3 former 4*s who will be Sophs or Jrs and there is another rivals top 100 RB already in this class. Last season the Buckeyes ran the ball 559 times while the Ducks rushed 685 times. When he committed to UO his dad said it was a business decision and sited Coach Campbell's record of assisting young backs to make it to the NFL... Coach Frost will be visiting in home this week

There really was no Oregon Optimism coming out of that Rivals Chat. They couldn't even list any Targets outside of Hunt/Williams they thought Oregon might get. I suspect some of the issue was the ones chatting just don't care for Oregon as a team and it came through.

most of their national guys are all SEC and the owners of the site are Bama alum... I'm guessing Gorney was missing from the chat. Being a community of Duck/Blazer fans, we're used to being sold short, so whatever. I'm very pleased with how things have gone recruiting wise since the bad news that Chip (and Azz) were leaving as the verbals seem relatively solid. The team's short term needs are few and some extra slots for next year's class isn't problematic either. If the current verbals hold I'll be happy, but regardless there will be some other commits. The high profile guy I retain hopes for is DE USC commit Torrodney Prevot who was in Eugene last weekend. I have no reason to think he's likely to flip, just really hoping he does as dudes an overachieving high motor/character stud

Robinson twins wanted to play hoops and football, the Ducks finished #2 in the nation in football this year. The basketball team has just knocked of AZ and UCLA + USC at their places and are a top 20 team. So not sure what they are looking for? We are running the same offense and they'll have a good shot to start if they can play at this level.....

OSU just like USC is a stud farm and the Robinson's may never see meaningful minutes for either team and I'm not sure USC or OSU is offering them hoops dreams.

As for Dontre Wilson... OSU is the wrong kind of offense for his running style but hey do what ya want! We've got Tyner, DAT, Marshall, we'll be just fine!

Our thoughts should be in locking down another LB and a DE with speed. Our skilled spots are loaded!

The staff might agree with you with the Prevot, Cunningham OV's and the in home with Robinsons :)

New Targets

DE Davin Bellamy

OL Elijah George

Victor Egu had Scholly pulled by Cal, not sure why. Not sure if we'll renew interest.

Looks like as we suspected too much distance for Zach Cunningham. So unlikely. Anyone think we'll get a commit somewhere before Williams chooses between us and Vandy? Maybe George that OL project visiting on the 25th?

I was really hoping to get Porter and Hunt... but if we sign another OL it seems unlikely.

Quinton Powell cancels remaining visits including Oregon.

Cunningham all but eliminates oregon.
Jack and Powell cancel their visits.

What do we do hope Twins don't go elsewhere. Lord knows if they do go elsewhere....

So what no 4th lb commit this year, maybe offer unranked Colorito or Try to peel local low 3 star Ragin away.

I suspect we may just have 3LB this class hopefully keeping the twins.

Apparently Egu rumor was false.

We just offered Devon Allen, not sure how this plays in with us on maybe an Ayers offer to help keep Dontre. Maybe Ayers as a CB, don't know.

I was impressed by Devon in the All American game he played in. Good size and blazing fast. Rivals is relaying that offer too. Reading between the lines in interviews I've gathered the impression that Oregon is his #1 as he's a top track guy too. If so he might commit shortly. We'll see...

Scout has him as an elite blocker, too. With Will Murphy leaving, Allen may have a chance for PT if the blocking is solid. I think we'll see a lot more of Eric Dungy too next year.

Huff
Hawkins
Addison
Colt
Stanford
Kelley/Lowe
Allen//Dungy

Lots of speed, and size with Colt and Stanford. I hope Helfrich can utilize Colt better than Chip did in the offense. He's a match-up nightmare, and should be getting at least 4-5 balls a game thrown at him.

So much speed at WR, I'd like to see Helf be able to utilize it on some deep throws. It's hard to argue with Chip's result, though, and I realize this.

With Colt, Huff, Stanford and "DAT" in space it's impossible to put a helmet on all those guys especially when you've got to put three helmets on Colt just to bring him down. So let's say your defense coordinator amazingly shuts down those players I've mentioned, then Oregon hits ya with the meat and potatoes Marshall, Mariota and Tyner! 15 to 20 yard rushing plays a pop!

This year I hope we use our pass to set up our run! Cause DAMN that would be fun to watch!!!!!

Just having Colt, DAT, Tyner, Marshall and Huff out there with Mariota you'll have to have one hell of a defense to even slow that down!!!!!

Allen could be on board with Tyner and DAT and be great track stars. Oregon has one the best track programs in the country am I wrong?

So it's between Auburn and Oregon. UO has been more successful so Cunningham should lean towards us.

Distance is a factor for him. And Auburn has something we want as well in the successfull part ;)

What does Auburn have despite a trash record. Oregon finished #2.

2 years ago, and said coach who won that is ousted. On top of that, they won because of one man(or 2 if you count Nick Fairley).

The then Head Coach is gone, but a bigtime architect of their offense then is now the coach.

Look at Norv Turner. Great OC, terrible HC. Who knows what Mahlzahn(whatever is name is pselled) will do.

Also, Chizik was a hack and a fraud.

In other news: Goodman picks UCLA and Willis may follow. Oregon be wary of the upcoming secondary power rising in Westwood...

Says the fan of the team replacing a great (no debate there like Chizik) HC w/ the OC. Based on your reasoning Auburn would be in better shape, at least when it comes to it's coaches.

9-3 in his lone season as a head coach. Not too shabby. Not as stiff competition sure, but he also didnt have as much to work with as he does at Auburn.

In a way you could say he is more ready to take over a major college program than our current head coach.

oh... guess I should have just scrolled down a little further  great minds eh?

Makes me sick that UO misses out on a prospect in SEC country

again
