Asik can keep LA here. Dalembert likely won't make him happy.

Pek or Asik are the only big names left that can really get us to the next level at the center position. If we strike out on both, LA is gone by the trade deadline.

How are we to afford Pek? Not happening.

The have no incentive. They need a Center and he might be a top 10 one now. With the money they spent this off season they aren't about to rebuild.

Pretty sure they drafted Gorgui Dieng as insurance. I don't think it would be outlandish for them to turn down resigning Pek for around 12 million a year. How do we get there is the question?

Dieng is not ready to start as a rookie. They have playoff aspirations. And only way that I can see is trading Freeland to a team who will give us a 2nd round pick for him. Not sure we would get any bites though.

Pretty sure we would have to give the 2nd round pick.

The Kings offer to Iggy shows they are simply looking to let Evans walk and not pull a sign in trade with Lopez and other pieces. This is good news for the Blazers since we could likely pick up Lopez for cap room if Asik isn't happening.

of course right after I posted that:

@sam Amick: The Kings have pulled their offer for free agent Andre Iguodala & will no longer pursue him, I'm told. Story to come.

They are matching on Tyreke Evans then. About even value since the contract is (a little) less. Still outrageous though.

Pulling an offer? If they thought they would have trouble getting guys to sign there now, imagine what this fiasco will do for the future.

It all depends on what happened. They may have given him a deadline to agree or they withdraw it and he didn't agree in time. If its anything other then that then its something iv never really heard of a team doing when they overpay by so much.

They wanted an answer for Iggy immediately. He wasn't ready to commit. They pulled it.

Sactown looks bad. Iggy will likely look stupid.

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA -As USA Today reported, source tells Y! that Sacramento has withdrawn its four-year, $56 million offer from Denver free agent Andre Iguodala.

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA - Denver's shown no inclination to match $14M per offer, and Iguodala wasn't ready to tell the Kings 'Yes," sources tell Y! So, Kings bailed.

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA -
It is still very possible Iguodala and Nuggets can reach agreement on deal, sources tell Y! For now, Iguodala may keep scouring the market.

Yep. Pretty much.

@Sam_Amick
Kings wanted answer that Iguodala wasn't ready to give, so they pulled out and moved on. They'll regroup & decide on Tyreke Evans etc.

Dumb fuck Iggy! I bet he's kicking himself now

I dont' see how you turn down that kind of money... I don't think anyone is going to give him close to that, 4/46 if what I was thinking but now it may well be in the lower 40's since competition to sign him is dwindling

This. They'd let Evans walk if they had Iggy in the bag. But with new ownership, they need to keep Evans or make a splash. Pulling Iggy's deal leads me to believe they match.

NOVoodoo should be super happy.

Yessir! I'm floating over here from that TA signing... I was really skeptical about the new management, but so far they've made all the right moves - trading Gay, drafting very well with just a couple of second rounders, bringing in Koufos for Arthur, and now resigning TA to a perfectly reasonable, long-term deal... I've got some faith in these new guys now...

I'm also surprised that Kevin Martin was able to be had so cheap. $7 mill a year? Hell, I'd jump on that one if my team had more money. For what some of these guys are getting paid, that's a steal.

I'm worried about the competition that the Clippers pose though. They may have given up more talent than they got in return in the Redick/Dudley deal, but both Redick and Dudley seem to fit their team better than Bledsoe and Butler. Having Redick's three point shooting with Paul ability to drive-and-dish could be deadly in the play-offs.

Is there anything we could send Atlanta to make the JSmith thing a three way where we end up with Asik? What are their team needs? My only concern is that Horford, who is awesome, has always complained about wanting to play with a C, and Asik they might see Asik as an answer. Not sure it'd actually work that well though, as neither is going to be good at guarding perimeter guys or stretch 4's, and both play somewhat inside on offense.

I actually think Horford and Aldridge would be perfect next to each other, no way we're getting him though.

Are hawks in total rebuild? Would they be interest in Meyers? If we sent Meyers to Houston (and they turn him into a 4, which might be better for him), would Atlanta want Terrance Jones or anyone enough to pass on Asik?

Anyone else warming up to the idea of Leonard for Gortat?

With the way everyone's getting paid I know it's only a one year rental of Gortat but it might be nice to have the guys bird rights. I honestly don't think we're that far away and could be very competitive with Gortat, bringing in a vet on minimum like O'neal, and getting a distributor for Aldridge (my preference being Andre Miller, who I think could be had for Freeland plus some SPAM), but whatever.

Plus, Leonard would work well with Lin, as Leonard can probably play some 4, and may actually be better at it. He does have a nice stroke.
