I would be down right giddy if that happened. And it's actually possible.

I know Wright is weak as fuck, but the dude can play both PF/C in stints. He's a rim protector as well. (crossing my fingers)

I would rather play Robinson and Leonard, honestly. Bringing in Wright will eat up minutes that should go into developing those two guys.

I think you bring in Wright only for insurance...

Then you look else where... I agree with you about getting our current bigs minutes.

If it was just Freeland backing up Aldridge, I would be all over signing Brandon Wright, but I really like Robinson. I think he has great potential.

I disagree. I think you get players who can fill a role. Lopez is the starting center, who can be effective on both ends of the floor. Leonard is the backup C with the offensive game, Wright would be the backup C who can protect the rim. If either one wants more minutes, they have to earn more minutes by developing a more well-rounded game.

Nobody is entitled to anything, even talented young prospects.

Timofey Mozgov is still unsigned. Problem is he is a restricted free agent and I have to believe that DEN would match the 2.5 MIL offer that we could give.

True, but I wonder if Wright would want to come here to be 3rd string, MAYBE 2nd, over a place where he's more likely to get minutes.

Depending on the order of signings and what they were, we might have 4+ million still

That strategy didn't work so well with Jermaine O'Neal.

No argument there. I was just addressing the question of whether our young bids would be a reason that we wouldn't want to sign him, not whether he would want to sign here. I would be shocked if he came to Portland.

Minnesota, Nikola Pekovic getting closer on a four-year, $50 million contract extension, league sources tell Y! Sports.

Damn

Damn

They would have matched any deal we offered. Why piss them off more than normal?

4 years, $50 million for Pekovic. T-Wolves bidding against themselves....I think?

Apparently Minnesota sent Luke Ridnour to the Bucks and have thus cleared space to re-sign Corey Brewer.

Revisionist history. For one thing, Jermaine dominated in practice (by all accounts). Has Leonard done that?

For another: Jermaine was given his chance. He started for stretches when the other bigs were out, and flopped. He needed a change of scenery and a coach in Isiah Thomas who was prepared to pamper his ego and treat him like the best player on the team. But I always thought he was overrated even in the short window when he was putting up big numbers.

He wasn't healthy very long but he was the best player on the team with the best record in the league. The Blazers were a lottery team.

Trail Blazers have scheduled a 2 PM press conference for Thursday. Assumption is that all players recently acquired will be introduced.

Bingo!
