Feigen story on Rockets trading Thomas Robinson appears to have been edited; Spurs now out of mix. Seems to be Cavs and Bulls.

The Charlotte Bobcats have been shopping Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. Potential that he is moved on draft night. #NBADraft

Why? That doesn't make much sense at all.

http://fansided.com/2013/06/25/port...rade-for-los-angeles-clippers-deandre-jordan/

The NBA rumor mill is in full swing today and the latest rumor has the Portland Trail Blazers showing interest in Los Angeles Clippers big man, DeAndre Jordan.

Jordan of course was nearly traded to the Boston Celtics before the NBA pulled the plug last week and now, clearly unwanted in Los Angeles, it appears as if the Clippers are trying to find a potential suitor.

Enter the Portland Trail Blazers, who apparently have interest.

Also on the Clippers’ front, now that a deal involving Kevin Garnett is off the table, they must decide what to do with DeAndre Jordan. It might be difficult to bring back a guy the franchise was so obviously ambivalent about keeping this summer. Multiple teams have expressed interest in Jordan, including Portland…
The connection to Portland makes sense on a few different levels. For one, the Blazers could certianly use the size of Jordan but more than that, the Blazers are now run by Neil Olshey who drafted DeAndre out of the University of Texas.

FWIW Im not sure how trustworthy this is at all

ARRGH! Now I remember why I wanted that Garnett trade to happen...

Might not but the fact is, everybody is shopping everything at this point.

As for DeAndre, sure he has his downsides (free show shooting, etc.), but he is exactly what the Blazers need most (a defensive center).

Re: 2013 Official NBA Off-season Movement & Rumors

We don't really have the contracts needed to get JordanAND keep our capspace unless BOS would be interested in taking away Leonard/Freeland/Claver.

If we can do something like this, I'd be excited:
-Trade Kostas to NYK for #24.
-Trade Leonard/Freeland/Claver/24 for #16 (from BOS) /Deandre in a three way where KG lands in LAC.
-10 + 24 + $ to move up as high as possible to land Oladipo.
-Use remaining space to sign Maynor or bu PG of choice.

End up with a stud wing and a semi-overrated, but young rim protector. I call that a successful summer.

I love how he puts that section in quotes, but, unless Im missing it, doesn't attribute the quote to anyone.

I saw the same thing and thats why its doesnt hold a lot of credibility with me

Re: 2013 Official NBA Off-season Movement & Rumors

Well, here is one reason to make it suspect:

The connection to Portland makes sense on a few different levels. For one, the Blazers could certianly use the size of Jordan but more than that, the Blazers are now run by Neil Olshey who drafted DeAndre out of the University of Texas.

Jordan was at A&M, not UT. That could offend both Jordan and Aldridge.

Re: 2013 Official NBA Off-season Movement & Rumors

Man. I hope we do whatever we can to land MKG and Oladipo if possible. Wouldn't be opposed to 10 and Batum for MKG. Get out of that ridiculous contract and get a great defender.

Re: 2013 Official NBA Off-season Movement & Rumors

I'd like to hear the reason behind this.

If true, of course.

WTF? you would trade the 10 AND Batum for MKG, you have to be drunk. high, or crazy

Our defense would certainly improve 10 fold

Man, has Batum really fallen off that bad? Is MKG that great too? I'm not trying to be snarky, I'm just in shock.

no, but the posting quality certainly has! lol

Re: 2013 Official NBA Off-season Movement & Rumors

It's more of a case of grass is greener syndrome. More ridiculous ideas and underrating of what we have while missing the big picture.

I dunno? I have always thought Batum was a seriously overrated defender. I honestly don't know if MKG is any better. I know he was a good defender in college is all. It also would open up a ton of cap space without really hurting our team.

Lillard would lead the league in scoring, but the team would be in 30th place (in scoring).

Re: 2013 Official NBA Off-season Movement & Rumors

This new Batum is hard to watch.

He passes up wide open shots/lanes to make a pass.

Like Boris Diaw, minus 40 lbs and his post game.

I am really not a Batum fan. He is grossly overpaid and overrated and think he pretty much is what he is at this point. His defense is incredibly overrated and he is way to passive. Teams around the league know he is overpaid and would want an additional asset I believe.

And MKG is younger a better defender but isn't as offensively gifted. But doesnt make over his market value.

everyone can have an opinion, I just think this one was ridiculous

Re: 2013 Official NBA Off-season Movement & Rumors

Nics problem is that he is a multi-talented player, who can't multitask. He can play lock down defense, shoot the light out, pass like a good PG, and rebound and block shots. He just can't do it all at the same time, or in the same game. It's either passing or shooting. It's either offense or defense. I still think he can put it all together, but I wish he would get started.

Ding ding ding

Lots of cap room and MKG vs Batum isn't as much as a drop off as people think. Always overvalue our own players and undervalue others.

Re: 2013 Official NBA Off-season Movement & Rumors

Are we going to completely ignore his wrist issue? Jeeez some of you guys are tough to please. After MM's assessment of 14 SFs being better than Nic yesterday, I can't really take any of these opinions seriously. I think his contract is apt with his production and market rate. Put a legit C behind him and some semblance of a system on D, and he'll beast it up.

Have you looked at MKGs shooting percentages on a shot chart? Leonard is a much better shooter. I like the kid, but his outside shot and midrange game is completely nonexistant. Whoever is guarding him can sag off and double LMA (or whoever is in the post).

And I think it is ridiculous we pay batum 11m to be our second best player yet he can only do one thing at a time. He can never put it all together and we have given him what 5 years now? Time to move on.

What we give up in offense, we gain on defense, so it's a wash

You're saying this about a guy that had two triple doubles and the first 5x5 game in 7 years?

Re: 2013 Official NBA Off-season Movement & Rumors

On Batum: this was posted Jan 21st:

Batum's goals for the season were to average 15 points, five rebounds, five assists, a block and a steal. "I started low," he said. But he's come on stronger the last month. He had at least eight assists six times in an eight-game stretch around Christmas, and in January, he's already had six games of 21 or more points.
"It's easier," he said. "Now, I have a free hand; I can do what I want to do. Terry [Stotts] is like, 'Hey, man, you can do so many things on the court. Don't just stand in the corner and shoot. You can create, you can score, you can pass, you can rebound. You can play defense.' That's what I try to do. I have freedom this year. I have a lot of fun. I've got it this year."

Lest we forget (look for Prigioni on the other team, Caja Laboral):
