As it stands, after T-Rob trade and renouncing Boykins, Houston has $18,493,102 cap space to a $58.5 mil cap. Dwight's max is $20,513,178.

I bet they get somebody to take Royce White and a first rounder. Or even Royce White and enough cash to pay his salary.

Actually: we could absorb Royce White and Terrence Jones, if we wanted Jones enough.

THEN trade Asik for Ryan Anderson.

They are basically calling Dwight a pussy on the radio. He couldn't handle LA. It was too big for him. Couldn't handle what it took to be a Laker.

Where in reality Dwight was smart enough to realize the team is going down hill fast and he would be blamed for it. He chose a better situation. Laker fans can't handle the truth.

Hey: maybe Asik for Robin Lopez? We can trade him immediately as a single player. Or are people already in love with Lopez?

Makes you wonder why they groveled so much to keep him, doesn't it?

Entitlement... They think they have tons of it

Why does Houston do it, though? If they move Asik, it's to help fill PF, I'd assume.

Houston could save some money by doing this, but that is about it. I don't know if this holds any water, but Howard recently spoke of how much he would like to play next to Asik--presumably with Howard playing the 4.

What about an Asik sign-and-trade with Utah for Milsap? He'll command far less $$$ than Smith.

Howard at 4? Interesting....

Any chance ATL would be more interested in Hickson and Lopez than Asik in return for a S&T JSmith? They might not want to pay that 15M price tag next year for Asik.

Also, it seems Lopez (as a banger) might fit better next to Horford and Hickson (as a PF with a *slight jumper) might fit better next to Horford.

HOU would still need to find a taker for Lin.

But none of these deals can be finalized til the 10th right? So we could just redirect Lopez to ATL? Two guys on small deals and a frontcourt of Horford, Lopez, and Hickson doesn't seem terrible while they rebuild.

When was the last time a free agent turned their back at Los gangels?

Last summer. Ramon Sessions!

Seriously though in terms of super stars, the local LA media has been saying it has never happened before.

Rockets center Omer Asik has no interest in backing up or playing next Dwight Howard, according to sources. Could force trade.

Howard is nuts if he thinks that would work.

Omer and Lin for Josh Smith? Hm. Could that be what ATL is looking at?

Odd haul, with Teague already there. Don't know how else it would work.

I'm told Hawks and Rockets working on sign&trade to bring Josh Smith to Hou, probably for Asik and JLin

Asik is way better then Lopez it's not close.

And who plays pg for Houston with no Lin?

Harden Parsons Smith Howard is frightening

God Damn what?

Lopez better overall than Asik, Lin sucks

I like Asik because he's a tougher interior defender and rebounder. He brings that toughness you want in your center.

Lopez isn't bad, but I definitely prefer Asik.

Asik is a much better defensive rebounder than Lopez What else does he do so much better that it isn't even close?

Is the Lopez deal official?

It doesn't really make any difference. It is not about what Houston wants, it is what Dwight wants and Dwight wants his buddy Josh Smith playing with him. That option was a factor in choosing Houston. Portland figured that out and decided to take TRob and Lopez.
